Actually, from every driver I've talked to or who'se posts I've read here, Pride is run completely different than England. Seems to me they have the miles to support your "habit", and treat drivers more professionally than CRE. But, that is second-hand information so I'd recommend contacting one of the Pride drivers here or on the road to chat them up.

They also do not have a lease program, he never believed in them and I doubt if the son does either. I left because I was not able to get off of a then rookie dispatchers team. His mistakes was costing me money.

Thank you guys... more research is needed... I live in SLC, I am going to go to the Dennis by the J and see if I can get a 1 on 1 -- in any case, I am still saving money and getting my teeth fixed before I start filling applications so I got another 4 months to go. All in good time...

Pride and C.R.England are two completely different companies run by people who happen to be related..Two completely different management styles as well..
Pride is a good company but I couldn't recommend England.. -
The dentist is at the Sapp Brothers on California Avenue and I-215..TooGroovy Thanks this. -
You need to check up on pride real hard before you commit. From what I heard 2 or 3 yrs ago Jeff England was brought up on federal indictment for raketeering and fraud charges over leaseing trucks the same way CRE does. That meaning that when a driver got close to ending or paying off his lease they would stop running (miles) that truck until the driver went broke, then they would recover the truck.Anything that has to do with the Englands is bound to be a ripoff.Remember the apple does'nt fall far from the tree!

Their home time policy is one day off for every seven days out. You need to request home time 10 days in advance.

Thanks for the input -- and the funny comments -- ha ha...
I did not know about their legal troubles -- will check it out... my biggest problem would be getting a message "Now we joined our cousins"
have NO interest in leasing, at least for the first few years and then ONLY if it makes REAL GOOD $EN$E, but not for 10% or 15% more IF EVERYTHING GOES PERFECT AND THE SUN SHINES EVERYDAY. I just don't get it, if I am going to take all that risk I would need to jump from making 50s to 80s or 70s to 3 digits... but I don't know anything about trucking so people must do it for a reason.
I am just fixing my teeth and beefing up my savings account and paying up my cc, so I can go through training and that first year without much extra in my mind other than learning trucking and having people laugh at me when I GOAL for the fifth time...
One of the reasons I like Pride is that they are relatively small 400 or so units and that (I heard ) they have everyone running 11k or more miles a month minimum... but this is all bits and pieces, here and there,,, this is why I am trying to keep this thread alive...
Thank you guys!!!
