Waiting to get unloaded at lowes in.zanesville. have preplan.to charter steel. In Cleveland.
-
I noticed last night on my preplan that it had a time of 11:00. Etap showed me delivering at 08:45 and Charter Steel is around 145 miles from where I was delivering. So I knew that there was no way that I would make it. I just figured they did not care when you actually got there.
When I checked in at door one, the computer said that I was over an hour late and I would have to take a later appointment time. Just then a guy comes out of the door and tells me that he is going to do me a favor and load me anyway and that I would owe him one.
So, in the future, I will get them to change my time as I may not be so lucky.
I got loaded and pulled around to the staging area. Got secured and tarped the back one no problem. For some reason the front tarp was all messed up and when I put it on it was actually upside down. Now it is windy and sleeting and snowing so I had all sorts of fun turning it over without it coming off of the load.
When I was all done, I had about 2:15 minutes left on my 14 so off I went for home.
Made it with 20 minutes left.
As I was putting all my stuff away, I noticed in real small print that my load did not have to be tarped.
Now my wo from Maverick said tarp and all the other loads coming out of there was tarped...because it is the winter months...but this customer did not care.
Oh well, I made an extra $10.
I will check it more closely next time.
I have to deliver down at Alabama Wire in Bowling Green Ky on Monday. I will head out Sunday afternoon.
I will tell you this, I ran my but off trying to make all of my appointments and to leave myself time to get on to the next one.
It makes a big difference in your week when you start off Monday Morning with only about 5 hours left. But it was worth it to do my 34 at Gary and spend time with Sarge and Sewerman!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend.....I am glad to be home!
Ps...I need to take my truck to Freightliner. I have two sensor failures on the def system and the big yellow light is on. It says that if it does not go off after three driving cycles, to take it in for service, so that is what I will do.sewerman Thanks this. -
Jim, I'll be close to you Monday. Have to deliver a coil in Jacksonvill, IN. Along with 3 other Maverick drivers. We are all sitting here at the Madison yard. Going to head there Sunday & get me a 10 hr break in before I get unloaded.

I'm sitting at Madison also, got hung out for the weekend after one of those wonderful looooong waits at majestic at Bedford Heights, OH.
that GP in Fairfax is hands down the best one they have, and the only one I actually like going to, awesome people.
and Alabama Wire is always a no tarp load everytime I've ever pulled it, love the looks you get from some drivers this time of year when you drag it outta there without tarps. lol!Last edited: Jan 28, 2012
