Even so, it's probably not an issue because his falsification done is post-driving. I don't think some DOT cop is going to show up at the school and demand to see log books.

My instructor was with Sysco for 21 years, and worked as the DM for 10 years. He had to deal with DOT cops several times over this issue. He would tell them why he didn't have to maintain logs, and ask the cop if they wanted to inspect his truck. They told him no, and let him go every time.

Another instructor we have at All State Baltimore, is a guy named Alex Jireu. He is a career army guy who is also a DOT cop, state certified tester, and an NTSB truck crash investigator.

    These guys know their stuff.

Hey man been going over the company DAC forums with a fine toothed comb.

If he told the FMSCA after he has already falsified a few logs will he get himself in hot water too?

I did think about it after the fact and this school should be reported.

It is the point. But, the instructor is still having him falsify a legal document. What kind of training is that. "oh just go ahead and put what ever u want on that log. It doesn't have to be accurate."
In his case, most likely won't matter by a legal standpoint. unless he gets in accident during training and someone gets seriously hurt. Then that false log could come back to bite him in the arse.

I never went to school, studied for the permit, passed. week later paid $300 to take the test, passed. Trained on the job by some old school guys. If I was paying big money for training, or signing my life away for a year at some BFI. I would expect to be taught the right way meaning legal way of doing things.

there are enough rookies training rookies at BFI companies that we don't need college instructors teaching the wrong way as well.

All these are valid points here guys, the main one being is he also is not getting the proper amount of drive time that he is paying for.Not to mention the fact that he is falsifying legal documents.
