Well, I've watched all the videos and passed all the tests. Looks like I'll get the upgrade in the morning and assigned to a new truck.
airforcetoo Thanks this. -

I don't plan on staying with PAM long after my 12 months up. But, I do intend to fufill my obligation. A man is only as good as his word.airforcetoo Thanks this. -
Nice first post.

Exactly, first post. lol.... I never did less than $500 take home a week, unless I was going or leaving home.
I said the same thing. A little over 2 years later, I quit. Not because PAM was bad, but because I wanted to get into flatbed and get out of driving, open doors, close doors, driving. -
And when someone says something to the effect of, "I know it's hard to believe, but it's true," I tend to think there's a lot more to the story. But I really do think this guy will be a one-post wonder.
Don't feel sorry for us. I'm leaving after four years here. Moving on to better things. If anything, it's been a heluva great experience that I will take with me onto my next job. It's waht you make of it. Apparently, you chose not to do that.airforcetoo Thanks this. -
Hey Kid Cardiac, I saw your post on the board of the company that you are moving to, if possible, I'd love to hear how things go for you over there, especially since you will be able to do a direct comparison to PAM. I'm always looking for new opportunities.

I would wait, why train for PAM when you could go to one of the few trucking companies who have really good reputations and drive for them for six months and then easily glide into a training position there. I am currently a PAM driver and it is SO messed up. I know others who have it worse off than I, but on the whole they really blow. Its been nothing but up and down, low pay, medium pay, a few high pays, then back to the same old garbage. With people like KNEEL HAIR AL running the team end of it (A former DM who was promoted, I don't know why) and the few mid level managers I have spoken with, you have a snow balls chance right now of getting any extra money out of PAM. My DM's night and day are really good guys, but their hands are tied. THe planners and CSR's blow, constant mistakes with QC's and late dispatches. The other administrators in the place like the ladies in payroll and Shirley and Norma and the others are great. The weekend guys are fantastic, but the middle management is absolutely clueless, don't give a rats tail about you and if you want a good company to go to, PAM probably isn't your answer. I have spoken with five trainers, including my own and three are leaving. I have not ever contacted my trainer again, he really did just use training to keep his wife in spending money, his self in misery and away from home, so he will be staying. I hope PAM hires you on and treats you well and that you tell each of these men or women that the first year is an apprenticeship, not a way to make "up to forty thousand dollars". They will never make that. Good luck.
