This has nothing to do with the current topic...although...I guess everything has been said on that topic.... I stopped in Ashtabula, Ohio Pilot to fill up. I only had an hour left on y clock...and need a shower...so I decided to stop here for the night. I pulled up next to a truck...didnt pay much attention...but it's a big old Pete....evidently no bunk heater...or generator....cuz its been idleing for a couple of hours now...and it's really loud. I'd move to a other spot,,,,but...it's a full house, and I'd never find another place

Wondered about that and diesel exhaust fumes when it is nice enough to open the vents and/or the windows. Is that unheard of at truck stops simply because of the noise and exhaust?

Just pretend you are on a luxury cruise liner and they double booked your 1st class room...thus sending you down to a 4th class room next to the ships powerplant with the promise of giving you the next available 1st class room.
Problem solved!!..that should help you sleep better !! =) -
Hey Markus this is Lisa' husband, you met her at the Carlisle OC. Ive been reading this thread and am glad you decided to stick with it! She's still in it, just finished up her last day or so at the Carlisle OC, she hasnt had much time to post or anything, thats an intense 3 weeks from what she told me!
Heres a tip for the noise try some ear plugs. I have trouble sleeping when there is any kind of noise (like 2 snoring dogs!) and the plugs help me immensly! I too am thinking of switching careers, Ive been a forklift mechanic for about 20 years, and may do a team thing with my wife. Im hoping to go with her for a few trips later this year and see what its all about. Good luck Markus!
Markus Thanks this. -
Heres a copy of my facebook post tonight...i thought you guys might find it interesting.
I find myself right in the middle of consumer America. As a truck driver for Schneider, I've carried products from and to some of America's best known and trusted companies. Today I was at a Ford plant....I carried a whole bunch of car roofs from the stamping plant to the place where they prep and prime them. Let's see, other big names...Johnson &Johnson, Proctor&Gamble, Oscar Meyer, Campbell Soup, General Mills. I just find it very interesting! Oh...I ran out of time, so I had to park my truck in an abandoned supermarket parking lot. There's a sign that forbids overnight parking for tractor trailers...but I have no choice. I hope the police turn a blind eye...I can't (by DOT law) move the truck until 5:30 tomorrow morning.Attached Files:

I KNOW this is nonsense ...but here's what I've been thinking. I'm pulling 40000 pounds of plastic pellets to the Poland Springs ....spring. They'll make plastic bottles and fill them with water. So, I wondered how many plastic bottles can they make with the pellets I take them. Wiki says o e bottle weighs .027998 oz...so...I think that translates to 1.4 MILLION bottles....yikes!

I'm beginning to worry about you Markus.

Markus, I have thoroughly enjoyed your thread! This has read like a novel! I have felt the embarrassment of the incidents and shared in your excitement as you have progressed. I felt like the story would end with the job offer and then relieved to know you will keep on trucking! I am about to leave Law Enforcement here to do what I have always wanted to do and this has been helpful to me. I feel I can call you friend, though having never met you! Please let me know in a PM if you ever make it the Charlotte Terminal as it is in the area I patrol! I would love the opportunity to shake your hand! God Bless brother!
TicketyBoo Thanks this.
