Jet is the hauling division of Jayco. Ask them and other transport companies about backhaul percentages. Deadheading back is unpaid so it cuts your rate in half.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm going to make contact with a few of the companies and see what I can do. Still debating if I want to get my cdl this summer then find a hauling job.

Hey Tumbleweed how's the hauling for TN going?

It's going well. I've got another job I work 3 days a week. So I always get a trailer to TX. I would suggest going with a different co that has more going to Canada to make more per mile if you want to stay out a while.

I'm not looking to stay out that long at a time. Few days at the most. I guess it depends on the loads too.

Almost all the RV's come out of IN and it would take you a couple of days just to get there to get a trailer. You could check on delivering horse trailers , flatbeds , and boat trailers out of Texas and Missouri .

Southeastern no longer hauls for Sundowner trailers. Sundowner is about an hour from my house. A company called Hour Glass hauls them now. They want you to stay out 7 to 10 days.

I've called all of the trailer mfgs around Mt Pleasant and most all have their own company trucks. Most contract loads are semi step deck loads.

    RickG Thanks this.

Southeastern has other things they sometimes get out of Oklahoma.

Horse trailers barely meet fuel cost.
