I couldn't agree more. It's a huge adjustment for most people (me included).

Jim, I was reading your messages a few posts back where you said you should have gotten a load out of Mittal in Columbus, but they sent you to KY. A few weeks ago, I along with two other Mavericks took paper to Fletcher, OK; so we figured we would get a load out of there. Wrong, they sent 4 empty Mavericks from OK City down there to get loads and dead headed us three to Ft. Smith to load the next day. I wasn't upset but wondered why they did that. If you call night dispatch, there is a CSR who sometimes works out there after regular business hours. Well he was working that night and I asked why they sent 4 Mavericks to load at a place where there were already 3 of us sitting there (waiting for a dispatch). I was told that those guys lived near where those loads were going and that's why we didn't get those loads. In your case, it seems like you got screwed. I unloaded at Hirschvogel, OH two weeks ago and 9 times out of 10, I always to to Mittal to reload going to Alabama; which takes me right by the house. After I got unloaded, I started to head over to Mittal because I figured that's where they were going to send me. Well I was wrong again. The sent me up to Majestic Steel Services in Bedford Heights, OH to get a load. I was already on the clock from delivering at Hirschvogel that morning and the work assignment said I couldn't pick up until 1430 that afternoon. I'm thinking cool, I can get up there, get loaded and still make it half way back to he house. Well, I was wrong for thinking that to. I got up there and trucks are lined up 3 deep all the way down the side of the building and all the way up to the guard shack. Needless to say, I timed out on their yard and there wasn't any O/N Parking. I had to drive 30 mins past my 14 to find a place to park. I wouldn't wish having to load at that place, on my worst enemy.

Well I had a pretty #### good week. Delivered in Florence Kentucky Monday morning then went to lipstick Ohio and picked up for precision strip and Anderson Indiana. The boys in Anderson learned how to unload from the boys in Alabama only 4 and half hours to unload instead of the five in Alabama LOL.

The next morning went back to Gary Indiana and picked up a load going to Louisville delivered that night. In the morning went back to Gary and picked up a load going to Georgetown Kentucky. Delivered at eight o'clock Thursday morning then back up to lipstick Ohio to pick up a load going to Mansfield Ohio for Friday morning.

Delivered Friday then went over to Pittsburgh PA and picked up a load going to US steel portage Indiana for Monday. For the week 2200 miles not too bad and had a great time doing it.

Have a great weekend, drive safe and enjoy the ride.

I was very aggravated when there was no exit. I could not believe it was happening again. I sent in a message for them to change the directions...so hopefully they did.

After I arrived at Nextech I noticed another driver go over and go in the building. Come to find out they will unload you 24/7 but only load during certain hours. So I was able to get unloaded Sunday night and had my next assignment from my preplan. It was picking up a load of pipe at IPSCO KOPEL STEEL in Ambridge Pa. going to Plymouth Tube in Winamac Indiana.
I thought I had been there before but I could not remember until I pulled into the place. I ended up loading out of the cold mill side all the way in the back. Only one truck could go in at a time and they were in no hurry to get me loaded....what else is new for a tubing/Pipe place.
I got to Plymouth tube and the hours of unloading which were given was for the blank side of the business. Mine was pipe so I could not unload until the morning.
From there I got a load going out of US Steel ..skidded coils going to Randal Metals in Salisbury NC. I got there with about 15 minutes after my assigned pick up time and got right in and loaded. Got three coils.
Got down to Randal Metals in did not have to wait in line there either to get unloaded so I was very happy!
From there I got a load picking up at Gerdau Ameristeel in Charlotte NC going to Gerdau Amersteel in Paragould AR.
I really cut it close but was able to find a spot at a rest area in Tenn before I ran out of time. I had noticed three lights out on my trailer that morning during my pre trip and was hoping to get shut down before it got dark so I would not get a ticket.
As it worked out I could not find a place to park during the light.
Right as I came up on the last open scale house in NC, which does not accept our prepass, the scale closed light came on and I was able to bypass it and make it to the rest area on I26. I sent in a breakdown macro and had someone come out and fix it. I had just had these same lights fixed about three weeks ago, so this time the guy ran some new wires.
Made it to Paragould with only i hour left on my clock to drive. So I ran across the border to Missouri and stayed at MR T's restaurant and truck stop. Got my next load which was pick up a load to Particle board down in Oxford Mississippi going to Lowes Dist Center in Washington Courthouse on Monday.
I had visions of getting all the way up to Sonora Ky but it took forever to get me loaded and I was the only truck in there getting loaded at the time.
So I settled for the Flying J just shy of Nashville as I did not want to deal with the traffic and I really wanted a shower.
So I go in to get a shower and they are not working because they were having a plumbing problem. So I had to wait for two hours before they got them restored. Got to watch some NCIS...lol
Headed out at 0200 and made it home by 1300.
I have an 10:45 appointment on Monday at Lowes....so I will be getting a late start which I really do not care for...but hey, I got home so that is all that matters.
Best fuel mileage for the week was 7.821 and I did 2359 paid miles.

I have noticed that Mav is downloading the fuel mileage data off of the qualcom almost daily. I think they are really starting to watch this closer....so it might pay to try and get the goal for fuel mileage! hint hint!:biggrin_2556:
Hope you all have a wonderful Sunday!

did the same exact thing with nextech, went to the next exit and did a flip (what sign, lol!) all during afternoon rush... yay me.
I sent in to change the directions then, that was a little over a year ago.

    JimTheHut Thanks this.

Got a preloaded trailer at charlotte pipe and.the.lights on the right side did.not work. So I did not get home tonight as I had to stop.and get them fixed. Some driver probably to lazy to report it. Another driver had a support missing off of his.

    Paid Miles this week 2,265
First load was drop off at Washington Court House Lowes Dist Center at 10:45 so I got a late start to the week. I do not like running late, but that is just the way it started so I was destined to run it all week long.
From there I dead headed back up to Columbus Ohio to pick up at Mittal/Columbus Process with a 16:30 pick up. They only had one guy working so even if they would have let me, I would not have been able to pick up early. Shift change was at 14:00 so there was no way I could have picked up on morning shift. So I spent hours waiting in their lot.
Got loaded and made it down to Florence Ky at the rest area. My delivery time was 19:00, I did not have to start until around 08:00 to head down there. Arrived just after 18:00 as you are allowed to check in an hour early. Got unloaded in under 2 hours which is a record for there. Did not have a preplan, so I just tucked away to the side and spent the night there.
Got a load the next morning for a 10:00 pick up at Georgia Pacific In NAUVOO Alabama. Sounded like a star wars planet to me. Got there and and you do not get out of your truck except to check in until you are loaded and pull out to strap. Pretty efficient operation.
Ran into a Mav instructor there with his student. I asked him how it was going and he just shook his head back and forth.
This load was going to Lowes in Glasgow Ky. So I headed there and planned on spending the night in their lot. When I got off the exit, my gps was telling me different from the directions, so I pulled off and called them. The Gps was correct.
So once I got there I sent in a direction correction.
Spent the night in their lot and got unloaded by 0700 the next morning.
Got a load shortly after I sent in my mt and got a load of coils to pick up in Jeffersonville Indiana going to Central States in Mt Airy NC.
Got 4 skidded coils. Drove all day and made it to Mt Airy and spent the night at the receiver. The wo said receiving started at 0730 but they do not open the door until 0800.
Spent the morning watching the sun rise and listening to the spring peepers. Very calm and peaceful.
Got a load in about 40 minutes to pick up a pre-loaded trailer at Charlotte Pipe.
I had a bad feeling. Got there and I was getting a nice Retenouir (sp) trailer.
Moved all my stuff on to it, got under it and there were no lights at all on the right side. Just what I wanted to deal with.
Another driver was missing a brace on his.
I could have made it home if it were not for having to deal with the trailer.
I made it all the way to Jackson Ohio to A&A truck stop and sent in a breakdown macro. They had it fixed right there at the truck stop which was nice.
At this point I was only 110 miles from my house.
Headed out early this morning and made it home by 0800. Had to stop in Circleville and get fuel.
Will not get my restart and will have to head out tomorrow morning and drive up to Sddison Il. I am delivering to a Ferguson warehouse. I spoke with them this morning to verify that I could park there this evening. I have a 0600 appointment.
Afterwards I am calling the shop and scheduling my truck in to be looked at.
I have had two check engine lights on for a couple of months along with three sensor failures on the def system. I have not had to add any def.
I also am going to have the shop re-install the new program in my truck as the one I have is wrong.
I was only able to pull some of the hills on I-77 at 15 mph. The truck will not let me go past 1500 rpm in manual and when it is in auto, it keeps shifting up and then down shifting...back and forth. Everytime it upshifted, it would lose speed and momentum on the mountain and it would start all over again.
I literally screamed as loud as I could because I was so frustrated.
That of course only made it better for a brief moment.
My guess is that I will not have my truck for a day or two as it has some gremlins in it.
My favorite Parking Brake Off alarm came on for the last 55 miles of my journey which made coming home all the more enjoyable.
Hope you all have a great week!
