Just got home from Reno NV. Chains over Donner Pass, 3-5 feet of new snow by tonight. If your in the "I dont"t chain" crowd, better be ready to sit for a few days. Its a bad storm. Please don't park in a chain up area to "wait it out" Some of us have a job to do.:biggrin_25522:

I always lived by my motto, "if I gotta chain up, I don't gotta be driving".:biggrin_25522:

Been 20 years now of driving, with no chains, ain't about to start learning how to put them on. It's so easy to call in sick. :yes2557:

I won't chain. Period. If I'm required to chain to drive, then I don't drive. It makes me uncomfortable. It's not a laziness factor, it's a healthy fear of losing control and hurting people.

I listen to my CB and pay attention to the weather. If I start slipping on ice or snow, I stop at a truck stop.

I desperately try to avoid getting stopped at a mandatory chain up area. So far, I've never been stopped and told to chain up.

No war...unless they try it, do it, experience it...how are they supposed to learn?

Even as a new student, with a trainer/Mentor, they might not be on a truck during the winter snow months to get the experience with someone beside them.

Anyway...no worries about Donner right now....she be closed!

The last time we had a "To Chain, or Not To Chain" thread it got pretty ugly. Please keep it polite and professional this time, no personal attacks.

You tell'em MMM in driving experience I might be a little chihuahua but a mean vicious son of a gun I will do whatever it takes to get to my drop, and chaining is second nature to me now. Smaggs the truck aint gonna slide off no side of the hill u been watching too much IRT bro. Installing chains is easy!
