Remember company policy! it would be a shame to get canned right off the bat because you didn't follow their rules. That's where I have a problem with people. rules are rules if you don't like them go somewhere else! there should be no question on this.

My 03 cents is in this order
Company policy, Trainer in the truck makes the rules, but should not just be sitting how about practicing backing, Practicing Inspections, etc. then after a few hours of training, go eat and play and have fun while you can.

You probably know just enough to get yourself into real trouble. Guys like you are the types that wrap their truck around a tree thinking they know way more than they do.

I can say this because I've got 20+ years under my belt working in different professions and I know 1 year in just about anything ain't ####. Maybe flippin burgers....you get a year flippin burgers and I'll admit, that makes you an expert....anything else?? It's just enough experience to get you into real trouble and you wouldn't even see it coming.

Guys like me...drive really slow to be safe while guys like you honk at me for driving so slow.

Explain to me how the word "indignant" even makes sense in context with these posts?
Tell me what you think that word means then.
You can't just say it is the right word and not explain why you think that and expect me to just say..." oh..ok, well, since you put it that way "

I posted the definition of indignant and it makes no sense in regards to this thread.

Whether or not you actually are indignant may be debatable, but your posted definition does make sense in regards to this thread. Even more so as you continue. HTH.

Just wait, now you'll hear from the billy big riggers, and super truckers, how your driving to slow is a hazard.

    I don't understand.
First this guy with 0-1 years experience knows a lot more than me, but a trainer with 6m-12m experience probably isn't good enough to take me through some winter weather?

    Chicken butt say what??? :biggrin_2551:

I wonder by your definition, and your responses to posts that are not in agreement with you, if in fact, you are being a little indignant.

Yep, rules are rules! When you are given a paycheck, you do your job set forth by the company and do what they want and not what you want. That's rule #17 on keeping a job! Then when you are off duty, you do what you want to do. Some people can't grasp that concept and seperate the two. So they become a trucker because they heard of the freedom of the open road. Then they find out there is more rules in trucking than in most jobs.

Besides all that, winter weather you can't beat mother nature! There is nothing to prove and it's part of the job. If it shuts you down, it shuts you down. Always carry you food and supplies in the winter for those times. A TV helps!

Your paydays will be up and down. What matters is whats on that W-2 at the end of the year.

Yep, trainer is boss. But who sits in the drivers seat is responsible when the truck is moving. Sometimes what he is experiencing is a good time to get a reset in. Use that clock wisely.

Yep, there's always those that have something to prove. Even though my underwear are crawled up my butt, if I make it, I'm the super trucker of the year. What happens if you wreck? You don't make, you're unemployed and you're lucky if you live. A real trucker respects weather.

There is no time that you have to prove anything. You always drive within your comfort level and don't become a monkey see monkey do driver.

I see the OP's concern is making money. Again winter weather is expected. You'll have more than enough opportunity to make up for it in good weather. $$$ is not an excuse.
