Poly flew me in On Sunday night and put me up in the motel. They picked me up Monday morning and I was back at the airport to go home by about 2pm Monday. Cost me nothing.

When I went for the face to face interview and physical/drug screen I drove my truck there after dropping the Crete trailer at the Wilmer yard. I asked the Poly recruiter if I could & was told sure.

On my current trip after delivering the four stops I relaoded in North Grafton,MA & Langhorne,PA on Wednesday. It is also a two stop delivery on Monday but I won't be doing them. I will drop this load at our facility in Mount Belvieu,TX (Baytown area) tomorrow before noon and p/u a transfer load going to our facility in Henderson,NV. This will allow me to do a restart at home begining tomorrow night.

The only drawback to this is not being able to turn in paperwork in Grand Prairie by Sunday at 8pm inorder to have a paycheck next week. For me this is not an issue, but for others who need that consistant paycheck there is a provision for just such an occasion. Poly will issue a Comcheck, up to $1000, based on the number of miles you have on a current trip. They understand the need to keep the wife happy with groceries paid bills.

I left GP last Saturday night & will be home this Saturday night. That's 4k miles in 8 days plus 7 stops, 5 are paid at $30. I will arrive in Henderson sometime Wednesday morning and probably get a run going to the NW for delivery on Saturday or Sunday.

    I'm beat, so, goodnight.

I will drop current load at our Henderson,NV facility in the morning and pick up a load going to Sumner,WA for delivery on Friday at 1030.

I wasn't able to make it home till Sunday morning because my ligbook ran out of hours. So now I'm running on available hours. Not complaining as I'm mostly using my hours for driving and not having them eaten up by line 4 (on duty not driving) due to short runs.

Again, the only drawback, for some drivers not me, is that I will not be back in Grand Prairie before 8pm Sunday to turn in paperwork. So I will be two weeks without a paycheck. But I could draw against my current miles if I needed too.

I really am digging these long mile trips. Lots of miles & no pressure. Although I did receive a call from dispatch yesterday asking if I could be in Sumner,WA on Thursday early afternoon. Told them I was running on available hours & early Friday morning was the soonest I could get there. Even though I could hear the strees in his voice as he told me COSTCO had slammed them with orders and they were needing trucks ASAP, he asked me to get to Henderson ASAP in case he needed me. Sure thang I says.

Took an 11 hour break last night, cause I know the earliest I will be leaving Henderson is early Wednesday morning, then sure enough dispatch calls this morning with next load offers: 1)Sumner,WA for Friday at 11:30 or 2)Sumner,WA for Friday at 12:30 & no strees in his voice (guess they found a way to cover all the loads). I took the early one and it won't be ready till tomorrow (Wed.) at 0800. So now I'm chillin' at the Love's in Kingman,AZ till early tomorrow. After the drop/hook in Henderson tomorrow I'll be in Twin Falls,ID by tomorrow night.

Once again, plenty of time and productive miles.

Poly is self insured on the medical/dental plan and it is administered by HealthSmart. The medical coverage cost for an individual is $22.01 per week. Spouse or first eligible family member is an additional $41.92 p/w. Each additional eligible family member is an additional $23.40 p/w. i.e. A family of four would pay $110.73 p/w for medical coverage.

Dental coverage for emplyee only is $6.50 p/w. Spouse/First eligible family member is an additional $7.50 p/w. Each additional eligible family member is an additional $7.50 p/w. i.e. A family of four would pay $29.00 p/w.

If I read correctly there is no deductable and it is an 80/20 type plan for major medical proceedures.

Prescriptions at WalMart are $5 for generic, generic elsewhere is $10. Brand name drugs without a generic substitute $15. Mail order generic 3 month supply $14. Mail order brand name 3 month supply $27.

After delivering in Sumner,WA this past Friday and had to wait till Saturday morning to p/u a load two blocks away going to San Antonio & Cedar Park,TX which I delivered both yesterday. Backhaul called as I was unloading last stop and said to just deadhead back to Grand Prairie.

I left on 2-25 & returned on 3-14 and ran a total of 9092 miles with 12 extra stops (done using only available hours). This equals a nice three week paycheck. My truck is now in the shop for its overdue PM and I'm about to go home, in my personal vehicle, for a few days.

I did finally hear back from Poly... it turns out that when I was typing the e-mail I was in the International dealer...and I guess I just closed the lid of the ole laptop before it could get sent...it was sitting in the draft folder this whole time. Sent it off Thursday late morning, by afternoon I had a reply. Yes, they are still hiring in my area, but they don't use Blue Cross/Blue Shield. It is a Healthsmart network for health insurance, and it doesn't go into effect for 120 days. With my wife's prescriptions being on a 90 day refill, we are checking the cost's of a one or two month outa pocket for all her meds. But the e-mail seemed like they were very pleasant people to deal with...it wasn't just a generic form reply from some anonymous person, it was a more personal reply directed to only me. I have had replies from previous companys I have looked at that were just almost a e-mail duplicate of the recruiting ad in those little books.

I guess you could get Cobra insurance after you leave Crete that would run through the 120 day period at Poly.
