Krooser is a O/O, the only thing that limits him is himself. But to answer your question 4500miles for a solo driver isnt possible (if logging legally/or even close to it) the most i've ever done is 4000, and that will usually only happen if you have back to back long runs for a van/reefer for flats/tanks/carhaulers you cant just log 15 min to load and unload like a van/reefer driver can/does

It is definitely possible if you can and don't mind going over the speed limit.

If your running out west in 70-75mph states in a truck that can do it, and thats the ONLY place you are, and you speed, and your fudgeing your logbook, and pulling a van/reefer then it MIGHT be possible, short of that no way

65 hours x 70mph (average speed) = 4550 Thats assumeing you can do all your other work in 5 hours or less for the week (pre-trip/post-trip/fuel/load/unload/etc) leaving 65 hours to drive....

I don't mind going over the speed limit...by 5 mph usually safe range. That extra 1000-1500 miles aint worth the risk or the expense. Now with CSA, and the points on your license. Call me chicken idc I give out enough money with out just handing over more.

I have a wonderful new position.

I am up at 4am to shower and get to the truck. Pretrip inspection then drive an hour to the shipper. I do 2, 3 or 4 shuttles a day. I am home at 3 or 5pm on the 2-3 shuttle days. On 4 shuttle days I stay in the truck that night, at the shipper.

Wake up around 4:30 p.m. in my own bed. Eat, shower, pack cooler, etc. Drive to the yard around 7:30-8:00, do my pre-trip on my truck, hook trailer, pre-trip trailer get on the road. Drive 4hrs 50 mins to relay point, do a trailer switch and drive back to the yard. Do my post trip, fuel my tractor, park it and drive home to go to bed. 5 days a week, no weekends or holidays.

Xactly...And that's assuming your truck goes from 0-70 in 1 sec...Even 5mph over speed limit only gets you 325 more miles in a week...

Never the same. I try to keep it at about 8 to 9 hours on the drive line... helps keep things a little predictable for the load planners. It doesn't always work that way when a sleeper break ends up in the middle of the day. Miles per week? Who cares! I get paid percentage, so its getting the load to the receiver as cheaply as possible that pays me.

I wake up, get out of bed, shower, pack a lunch and drive to work. Wake up time varies depending on what my dispatch is that day.

When I get to the yard, I pre trip, start my paperwork/logbook for the day go find an empty trailer or which ever loaded trailer I'm supposed to take first. Depending on the dispatch that day, I might be end up 1 hour away before that first trailer is empty or 4 hours away.

I call the office when I'm empty and tell them where I am. If I'm close, they'll usually have local stuff for me to run, i.e. go load here/deliver 40 miles away/call us empty again. Lather rinse repeat until late afternoon. Go back to the yard, park, go home.

If I'm 4 hours away, they'll usually send me somewhere near where I am for a back haul. Generally I'll load that drive back to the yard or straight home if getting from where I am to where I'll have to be the next morning means fewer miles on the truck than driving back to the yard.

I get home, have dinner with the wife, spend some time on the couch in front of the TV. Then bed. Repeat Monday thru Friday, off on weekends.

Everyday is different but usually my 1st day out is always the same. Go to 1 of 3 places, Suffolk VA, Clinton or Clayton NC. Except for more miles on I40 NC is same as going to VA.

Here ya go....sometime around 1600 dispatcher calls me with load info. Usually I bobtail to shipper. So I do a partial PT. Start my log and drive 35 miles. Get there around 1700-2000. Grab my bills, sign, BS with the boys in the office for a few minutes, then go find my trailer. Hook up, check temp, seal, and PT again. Sign out with the guard and head across town to fuel. Ill do my VA run I guess. Run US 25E south to US11E north in Morristown TN. Get on I81 north in Greeneville TN, jump off in wytheville Va. Hit I77 south 3 miles or so into NC I see my 1st scale usually closed :D. The I xit to I74 continuing on US 52 south. Once in Winston-Salem I40 east BR to I40 east. Never got exact name of city but almost to Raleigh on I40/85 I see my 2nd scale. Again usually closed. Here's where I jump off walk around truck make sure all's good, water the tires so they'll grow and roll on. Then jump on I85 north to smith-something VA xit 12A/B. Now I hit US 58 east 105 miles scale #3. Its VA nuff said! Run US 58/460/13 to I664 north. Swing off xit 11 west 2-3 miles consignee. Checkin with guard then proceed to shipping/receiving fill out paperwork, get my door #, back up, break seal, and dock. Now its nap time til I'm unloaded. Get signed bills, check out with guard, close it up, call in with in/out times and proceed to my hiding spot to finish thy nap and await next load.

569 miles. 200 through the country. roughly 10 hrs driving.

    Sounds easy huh? :yes2557:
