    So you think I have a bad character do you? You have systematically summed me up in one fell swoop huh? Got me down pegged huh? You read my statements and arbitrarily surmised that I was a ne'er do well, a malcontent, a wayward no good loser. This is your opinion of me, judging by your comments. Whew! Wow! And from the saftey of your computer to. I probably held the door open for you at the loves the other day. That was me who flashed you to come over, your clear. You don't know nothing about me son. NOTHING! How dare you try and twist my words around Bill O'reilly stlye. Fella, let me give you a bit of advice. There are 3 types of people in this world. Those who draw the line, those who stand behind the line, and those who walked the line. I don't know which one you are. But let me quote Louis L'amour " I never knew a wreckless man who lived long" I've been pulling freight around this country for years and I seen the worst of em and the best of em. AND NOT ONCE, did I ever judge a man. You got a lot to learn about folks boy.

    You honestly believe your comments are helping anyone in this context? You obviously believe it is OKAY to abandon equipment. Your comments will be taken as "hey it doesn't matter what you do, YOU can still get another job." This is NOT accurate in todays trucking industry. NO REPUTABLE COMPANY will hire a driver who abandons equipment at his previous carrier. The key to helping drivers is to steer them in the RIGHT direction not poo poo their bad decisions.

    A better stance for you would have been; "I have had issues in the past with several employers where I turned in the equipment at unauthorized locations. The employers DID include this information on my DAC report but I was able to find employment elsewhere at the following companies (name them so the OP may use that info if needed)." Include just how many companies turned you down and how long it took you to find another job so it can be determined whether that information is still relevant in TODAYS trucking industry. Vagaries will be challenged as well as the definition of a :"decent carrier" so be prepared to defend your comments with specifics.

    Comments such as the one you made earlier in this thread set a bad example to new and aspiring drivers. YOU claimed YOU abandoned trucks several times in your career and I quote; "I have always been innovative enough to find a decent job," unquote. THAT alone tells me you have a character flaw. You did not follow company procedures and then moved to a different carrier. Despite your irresponsible actions a few companies were so desperate for a driver they overlooked your "character flaw" and hired you anyway. Without the names of the companies that hired you I cannot say whether they were "decent" or not. Of course the fact that you did it "3 times" tells me you did not learn anything (Using your words in context no interpretation no twisting at all).

    Anything I write I am fully capable of repeating in person. I make no apologies for my statements and pull no punches. Your actions make you unreliable and irresponsible. Whether you are STILL irresponsible and unreliable remains to be seen.

    As for making judgements; WE ALL DO every day of our lives. We make choices and judgements about everything. About the food we eat. The way we drive. The way people drive around us. The lifestyle we want. The companies we would and would NOT work for. The PEOPLE we interact with. I have made a judgement based on the content of your comments.

    As for your bs comment about drugs and drug testing I have no idea where YOU got your info but let me give YOU some better info and the resource from whence it came.

    What will happen to me if I violate a DOT drug & alcohol rule (e.g. test positive, or refuse a test)?

    Your employer is required to immediately remove you from performing safety-sensitive functions. You will not be permitted to return to DOT regulated safety-sensitive functions until you have:
    • Undergone an evaluation by a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP). Your employer must provide you with a list of SAPs that you can use;
    • Successfully completed any course, counseling or treatment prescribed by the SAP prior to returning to service;
    • Undergone a follow up evaluation by the same SAP to determine your compliance with their recommendations; AND
    • Provided a breath and/or urine specimen that tests negative for drugs and/or alcohol prior to returning to DOT regulated safety-sensitive functions.
    You will also be subject to unannounced testing for drugs and/or alcohol for at least 6 times during the first 12 months of active service with the possibility of unannounced testing for up to 60 months (as prescribed by the SAP).

    First thing, anytime a carrier, wants you to run that's going to put you, and the public's safety at risk, that's a red flag.
    It's only a matter of time before something "Big" will happen, which starts the review of all your driving history, known as "The Investigation" ?
    That's the reason for C.S.A. to get constant ruler violators, law breakers, who cause accidents, have serious wrecks, off the highways.
    Your a trained commercial licensed truck driver, that can drive the "big rigs" through all situations, of traffic, weather, and road conditions.
    You took training for this, was tested by your home state, then issued a license, that states you will obey the law under D.O.T. and States, to operate this equipment in a safe manner.
    You then had additional training by the carrier whom you go to work for to ensure, your in company compliance, and they keep a "Paper Trail" on you, so that if there is a "Big Problem" the can provide D.O.T. the information the shows,"Driver Error".
    So my point is why do we feel that at some point in our career, the law doesn't apply to me...?
    Why do our driving skills never improve with experience in time of becoming a quality professional driver ?
    If we all took a better look at ourselves, with driving skills for safety, and not driving to run over the "Motoring Public" which we share the roadways with, instead of that "ALL MIGHTY DOLLAR" for unsafe performance.
    That's what the reality is, impossible, delivery, and pickup, windows, "but if you get it there, I'll take care of you on the next dispatch.."? BONUS....?
    It's a choice, question is would you want a driver running your family, or friends off the road, by unsafe handling of "Big Trucks" like you do..?
    "For Safety, Does Start With Me"...:biggrin_255:

    I look at it like the Past is just that THE PAST.... We have all made some bad choice one way or the other.... Heck ive been doing this 40 yrs and im no angel and dont claim to be one.... but what i have learned and corrected made me a better person and i try to pass my wisdom on to new drivers on the correct way to drive big rigs out here... the roads are more cramed up...there are more trucks on the highways...people have no common sense when it comes to driving their 4 wheelers...but one thing i would never do is come on to a forum and say ive gotten away with failing a drug test or dumping trucks...This is a public forum and just what we dont need is someone saying they get away with things like this.... Now you see why the public thinks truckers are scum post like that will do it.... Dont we as drivers have enough problems with Big Brother and the DOT up are rear ends enough.... Think about it and what you have posted.... Negativity will continue to do our industry in....RW

    Morning all, I currently lease to Hurricane Express, and before writeing this I read all the posts that were wrote, lets start 5200 in aweek that may happen once in a while, but it is usally with the drivers that have been there awhile but considering 3200 of them came from running from Ca to Ny that leaves 4 days to do another 2000 miles. Their week is from Monday-Monday, I normally turn 3200-3800 aweek and I have been here a year 7/1/12. I drive a 2012 pete 386 gross 6500 and 10500 a week depending on if its produce or seafood, on seafood loads I unload all the drops saves on lumpers....The dad,Eddie< does not run the company anymore his sons do....After all deductions I bring home anywhere between $1400-2000 a week, not to shabby.

    I wish everyone would quit judgeing people, last time I checked there is only 1 person who can judge us....
