Hey AT do you ever have a problem seeing over your hood visor? I'm a smaller guy, about 5'8 and I drive a 379 tri-axle with the same hood visor, and more often than not when cresting some of these hills on the smaller 2 land roads in western PA I find myself having to stand up out of the seat to see where the dang road is, just wondering if you ever encounter the same problem?

And I don't ride on the ground like so many of the Pete drivers do, if I did there's no way in hell I could see where I'm going.

well, im 0 for 2 so far this week.

Today i went and delivered first thing this morning, no problems. Went to the terminal to drop trailer. Trailer ABS light was on.

Get their talking to a new driver (in training) and the guys that trained me.

Then i got a weird load. I was suposed to pick up a Container chassi next to the port. Then pick up a container from the port and take it to San Antonio to deliver on wen and then take the MT container a and chassi back to the port.

wellll I get to the place where i was suposed to pickup the chassi "sry we dont have any 20' chassi's

BULL! They have STACKS of them. But none on the ground that were not put OOS. Sooo I sat theire pretty much all day.

Then they found me a chassi up in houston right near the terminal were i started the day. So i went it picked it up. Went all the way back down.

Couldnt find the right port. The local LST driver that normaly does this run, was on Hometime and in the area so he came over and escorted me to the port. Only to be told at 4:53 (7 min before they close the gates) that they wont let me in because i dont have a stupid TWIC card!:biggrin_25510:

So they are going to have another driver with a twic card pick it up tomorrow so i brough the chassi back to the terminal were im sitting and hanging out with some other drivers i know and will hopefully get a load in the morning.

I've driven less then 500 miles since i parked on sat to do my reset :biggrin_25523:

Cool thing is, as soon as things started going south today my dispatcher said "your on the clock, keep track of your hours today, your getting paid by the hour today"

i know your dieing to see my on the dark side (container hauler) :biggrin_25524:

It kinda sucks i was kinda excited to pull a container but oh well. Oh and backing a 20' chassi wasnt nearly as bad as i thought it would be....

But after seeing how these ports work and how these people that i already dispise (container haulers) work all day....i WILL NEVER be a container hauler (as in a local container hauler)

Pulled a handful of loads out of ports. Some of my most unpleasant trucking experiences to be sure.

I don't believe they will transfer your TWIC. As I recall you must pick it up at the same office where you applied.
