Im planning to either join TMC or Mavericks. Any opinions? How do you like training so far and how much do you get start of with Orientation? Thank you

Hey nsx, I wanted to share that TMC recruiter came to TDI today. Good presentation and then a recent grad of TDI stopped in with his TMC truck. He is the 4th or 5th driver I have talked to and have heard nothing bad about the company or the training. I am leaning towards TMC. I graduate next week and really wanting to flatbed. I was also looking at McElroy. Hope this helps a fellow Charlottean out!!

I was told by the driver today that it's a 4 day orientation and then 12 days of load secure training. Then you come home to meet your trainer. Four weeks later you test out I guess and get your own truck. Again I have heard nothing bad from the drivers I have talked to and another recruiter from another company even bragged about TMC lol. Thought that was funny!

Making sure I pick the right company to start with is just as tough as making the decision to leave my current job and making a career change. What school are you going to or did you go to? Charlotte?

I graduates from Charlotte truck driving training school in Charlotte NC. Very nice school and satisfied w all my instructor. Ok! I came up w my final decision to go with TMC since I want to start w 13speed transmission compare to automatic(Mavericks). My buddy also work at TMC and he love the job so far. He said just hang onto training since it's a little #####! You have to share room in motel for orientation. Lol

O really? Very nice fellow Charlottean! :) Hey Jeff, who was your recruiter? Man.. I didn't know they required Hazmat which give me 60days to get it. I talk to my buddy in TMC, and he said he doesn't have Hazmat. WTF! LOL

yes as the web site says you must start the process of getting it 30 days after you have been assigned your truck, that is lots of time. so within 30 days of getting your truck you get fingerprinted and then go from there, oh yea and also your passport and twic its all on their website, all that stuff benifites you as the driver so why not get it anyway. Im just saying may bring in more money for you or give you more options down the road. and they are not cheap but well worth it for you career
