Gotta respect a man who won't ditch his dog when it gets a little inconvenient. It speaks volumes about his integrity. Good luck and stay safe.

Hi Scottied67 that sounds like a good enough for me I also have a Dane so I have no beef with a big dog I have drove local so I can drive a Manuel.I was thinking of doing flatbed but I hear the wait for a mentor is long. I live in Cali to and have done all my paper work in just haven't picked a day to start.:biggrin_2556:

Still solo for now. Still seriously thinking about it too. I had wanted to do the mentor or team thing several months ago but by then my wife would not take the dog back, so I gave up the idea til one night I decided to post about it and see what kind of responses would pop up.

OK I'm fixin to head out Friday March 23rd here for about another month cycle then another week off, maybe by then I will be back in the market for a teamate. In a perfect world, my teammate and I would alternate hometimes off and team just a couple weeks a month so as to mix in some solo time as well as me getting closer to 2 weeks off per month on average. Right now when I'm home for a week the truck isn't producing but with a teammate, it would be out there making money and I could justify spending more time at home, maybe even hiring the teammate full time to run solo while I got a local gig.

At 20cents/mile team you will make more than a solo at 25 cents per mile. Obviously if he is an owner hiring a team you will work for him and NOT swift, as far as I know you cannot be a company driver working for a owner, or a owner driving a company truck (owner driving a company truck is possible if your truck in the shop for a while and you talk to the right people)

Nothing like the resurrection of a 4.5 year old post...
