So, you do not like to share with the minimum speed?

Love to see a few 100,000 LB oversized loads doing 75 MPH

I am not so sure he ONLY does 55 or 62. That is probably what he is doing on normal running. Even I will run between 60 and 65 most places, but when working hills, I will let it roll an get momentum for attacking the next hill. Only the ones that are choked to 62 will only do 62 even when working hills.

My truck will bury the speedometer, but I have no need to do that. I save a lot in fuel and tire wear by running at a more moderate pace. But I also will use a little common sense when working hills. And slower does save fuel as one of many things a person can do. But like all things, it has its place and is not to be held to like some sort of religious mantra.

But no matter the speed, if the truck is not spec'd right to work in that speed and be in the right engine rpm for a balance of performance and economy, it is moot. For instance, my truck, in direct will run around 1500 at 62 mph. Most of the time that is where it runs, primarily because I work a lot of rolling hills with heavy loads and two lane roads. But if conditions are right and I want to step up, I can move up a gear and cruise at 70 at 1400. There is no "one size fits all" deal here.

please explain this, my truck is "choked" at 60 with the cruise and 65 with the pedal, but going down hill it will go way faster.

Something called gravity comes into play when you go down hill.

You lose that speed real quick though. Without a limiter you can give it about 1/4 throttle and sail right over the hill. With the limiter you've got nothing from the engine until it winds up 3-4mph under the limiter.
