The KW's are not all that bad. Thats what I drive now.. although I'm not fond of the 9 speeds their spec'ed with.. they don't pull for crap! ..and I have a small sleeper.

Got the offer today.. orientation on the 16th. That works great b/c we're set to move to Fort Worth on the 13th. They told me there are no trucks available right now tho.. wonder if their just doing swaps with petes to KW's :biggrin_25513:

All the new trucks have APU's the 387's, 386, and T660's. We do not have an idle policy but we do have an mpg based Fuel Bonus.

from what i've been told by the guys in our new trucks 386's they have said they pull good (these new trucks have Cummins ISX15's) unlike the 379/389's that have C15's.

Our T660's have 72" aero sleepers
    386's/379's/389's have 63" midroofs
    387's have 75" condos

They are getting rid of the 379's and bringing in 386's and T660's

today spent most of the day 9am to 8pm working on my dads truck:

1994 Peterbilt 379EXHD, 3406 Cat, 15 speed, Tripple Digit, long legged truck :biggrin_25525:

The truck was prevously a logging truck....yea so it was DIRTY, the deal spent 2 HOURS cleaning it before they would let my dad leave and it was still NASTY. My dad had one of his freinds clean the inside took him 5 DAYS to clean it and its still not perfect. He did a great job on the sleeper/floor/door panels etc, but he didnt even touch the dash :biggrin_25510: and with 20+ gauges wrapped in chrome i was going crazy seeing them covered in dirt/mud/coffee/ rust on the rings/ and god only knows what else. So i spent 3 HOURS just cleaning the dash. Also spent a few hours fixing the lights on the gauges, air leaks, the tach is currently in the vise in the shop and will go back in, in the morning.

    See:

    Tomorrow's plan:

Take truck to the shop that fixed a bunch of stuff (around $7000 worth of work) and messed some things up we found, #1 the new sleeper air bags have an airleak #2 they left a cageing bolt IN the brake chamber :biggrin_25510: #3 somthing else i cant remember so they said to swing by and they will fix it free. Not that we couldnt have fixed it in 5 min.

Then we need to get Red/Blue airlines for the trailer and a Electrical pig tail. And one of those Hose holder things. We also need a few more lightbulbs for the chicken lights and a head light, and a few other things.

Then we have to get pickout a trailer (this will be fun)

Then back to the house and we're putting on the new front fenders, and puting on all the new mud flaps (front fender flaps/box flaps, and rear flaps)

THEN it SHOULD be ready to pull his first load monday morning. Thats my goal to get everything DONE tomorrow. we shall see. I'll take more pics tomorrow (phone died today :biggrin_2557:)
