I'm doing alright. Two more weeks and I'm going home. My co-driver is slowly eroding my sanity. I can't find a replacement which sucks because I really like running teams.

    Wedge Thanks this.

Finding a good co-driver is not easy. You might want to consider getting someone who has just come off the road with a trainer. They're teaming the new recruits anyway. You could luck out.

    Hello There. :biggrin_25511:

    Update.

My 34 hour reset was finished by 0500 Sunday, so I drove 230 miles toward the receiver in Bloomington, MN and stopped about 20 miles short at the Flying J in Northfield. I contacted dispatch to ask about running the load in 24 hours early. It turned out to be a live unload so I had to stick to the appointment time of 1200 on Monday. :biggrin_25510:

On Monday arrived at the receiver about an hour early and was unloaded immediately, and because I hadn't received a pre-assignment yet, I returned to the TS in Northfield.

As I was getting off the ramp, I received not 1, but 2 pre-assignments. :biggrin_25525:
The first was to dead-head to Waterloo, IA and bring a load back up to Rochester, MN, about 315 paid miles. The second was my run that would get me home. A load that picks up in St. Paul and goes straight through to Forest Park, GA, only minutes from my home terminal in Ellenwood, about 1150 paid miles. :biggrin_255:

I ran down to Waterloo late on Monday afternoon. It was a live load scheduled to pick up at 2000 and deliver in Rochester at 2230. I arrived about 1800 and they loaded me right away. I ran straight up US 63 into Rochester and delivered just before 2000. And, as a bonus, they allow over-night truck parking. :biggrin_255:

After I sent in my empty call, dispatch sent me the load information for my run to GA. It picks up today at 1400 local time and delivers on Thursday after 0800.

I'm looking forward to this long run and getting home. I've been out 5 weeks and I'm look forward to this hometime.

I'm heading up to the shipper early. You never know..............it could be a pre-loaded trailer. :biggrin_25525:

    Thanks for reading.

An "FM" is your Fleet Manager. They are responsible for assigning your loads.

I can only speak from the OTR perspective. But I do know that the dedicated accounts offer more hometime because the routes are regional. Your miles will be less, but you'll be paid for each stop and in most cases you'll be required to unload which you are compensated for.

I'm heading back to GA and plan to stop at our Tunnel Hill terminal for my 10 hour break. I'll try to get some info and post it here for you.

    Or........

Maybe a driver from a dedicated account will chime in and fill in the blanks.

Hey buddy, where have you been? Coffee's ice cold. :biggrin_2559:

Not a Kroger run. This load is headed to the Clorox DC. I go there on a regular basis.
