Just thought I'd let you all know. As of late, FedEx Ground has started taking Student Drivers from APPROVED schools. Now require 96 hours of solo driving with a trainer before being able to run team runs. If anyone has any questions feel free to P.M. me. (for current contractors that want to argue. Attachment 10.1 Addendum 10 1.2 A ii.)

But it's the contractors that have to hire them . Why hire a CDL mill graduate with unknown potential when experienced drivers are looking for work ? How many FedEx Ground drivers running doubles want to run team with a newbie ?

I'll tell you why, because sometimes it's not as easy as you think to find a good experienced driver. Most of the experienced drivers already have jobs. That leaves the the new inexperienced drivers that would eat up a chance to drive for FedEx as thier first gig.

Unfourtnatly for some contractors it's al about ###es in seats, not so much the quality of the drivers in those seats.

Finding a good experienced driver is one thing. Finding one that'll pass a backround check is another.

Good drivers pass without a problem. Ones opinion about himself is not necessarily an adequate measure of the individual.

Are you thinking of expedite - FedEx Custom Critical ? This is FedEx Ground - Roadway Package Service before bought by FedEx. They compete with UPS .

Can anyone advise how to get approved by them as a student driver so I can go to work for a contractor? I will be getting my cdl at the end of the month. My permit is CDL-A with PSTNX endorsements. I plan to get a twic card also.

    Davem3TF Thanks this.

FedEx Ground requires that you go to their facility and complete an online app. in order for them to get your approval from corporate headquarters. You may also need to be sponsored by a contractor who is willing to hire you.

    Davem3TF Thanks this.

I'd love to give up my medical benefits and paid vacation to go work for a contractor, but I won't. :biggrin_2559:
