I wouldn't recommend you use that turbo for your truck if your running the larger injectors and a 600hp file, don't you have a cam as well?

How much boost is that turbo capible of? I'm about to install a mechanical gauge and wondering if 45psi is enough for larger turbo.

I thought that stage one could handle 58's with a tune and maybe cam??

Stock cam, factory cat 550 flash, just fancy balanced custom built injectors, fuel chip, dura-lite cac, pdi manifold and fts/fls numbers. What's the limit of a 6nz turbo? Maybe yourself or Kurt could share that info. If this turbo goes I have no issue buying the proper one. I know how the power gurus feel about sharing bw turbo part numbers on here but I'd appreciate the info.

A BW Stage 1 turbo is good for 725 hp at the flywheel.

58's, cam and tuning is 850 Hp or more depending on tuning. If you want a grenade then a Stage 1 turbo is a good choice with these parts installed in the engine.

I run an 80 PSI boost gauge

The stock turbo doesn't have much room to push above stock Hp ratings. I've seen guys get a year or more from one after uprating the Hp to the 650 Hp level, but I've also seen them explode in less than 6 months at this power level. It comes down to how you use the power and work the truck. More stop and go traffic, the shorter the life span. More mountains to climb, the shorter the life span. Always loaded to gross weights, the shorter the life span. Do any of the above in tandem.......the shorter the life span. Cruise flat Interstate highways at 50K lbs gross, the longer the life span

PDI doesn't build a true Stage 2 turbo. They feel that going to the nozzle ring turbine housing will support the extra Hp with their Stage 1 turbo.

I don't and build a turbo with a larger compressor wheel that I call a Stage 2 for the engine parts combination you've listed that works very well. Which can also be built with the nozzle vane turbine housing or a standard 1.65 A/R Ratio housing.

hey mr haney my neighbors son installed a PDI stage I turbo he has a 2WS like me but should he be getting that ECM tuned so that the turbo can perform like its supposed to? His truck is set at 475 , do you think that the 7CZ file you told me about would work for him or should he be looking forward to purchasing a PDI tune
