How do you figure? If you walk into a job with a failure attitude, your going to fail. Have you ever considered that all these companies that YOU consider great have had someone that feels they were awful. So who's right? You, the guy that "heard" they were good, or the guy that actually experienced it?

thats not what im talking about. I'm talking about the guys that come on here and ask about swift/CRE/werner/Knight/etc and they read thread after thread of horrible stuff about these companies, 100's of replys to their questions about how much these companies suck, they even see bad CSA scores and pages of reports on rip off report .com, and for knight they even get to read the 500page court doc about them getting sued for covering up a driver killing someone! But what do they do they say "well i read all the bad, and they cant be that bad and i think its all in your attitude so im going there anyway" just like smaggs did! read his post, watch his videos, read this thread, he went to knight with a positive attitude ready to work hard and look how they treated him......

As for good companies, lets use Watkins Shepard as and example since they hire new drivers. you can look on here and read 100's of threads, 1000's of pages of post, tons of bloggs by 100's of drivers and hear NOTHING BUT GOOD, you can call the recruiters and they give it to you 100% straight, everything they say matches what drivers here say, you look at their CSA score/rip off report etc and nothing bad stands out, you ask drivers about miles and they ALL say they do 130,000 to 150,000 miles a year, and they ALL made $43,000 to $50,000 first year, and they ALL say the company takes great care of them......wouldnt you think that company is worthy of working for?

so to answer you question of who is right....Answer: Me!:biggrin_25525:

No you are far from right.

Does W/S hire in every single location of America?

Does W/S hire people with less than perfect records, I .E. driving pre CDL?

Do you guarantee me that W/S does not have a single employee, wether past or current, that doesn't feel they were screwed in some way? So if someone has a genuine complaint regarding W/S , but you had a good experience, they must be liars right?

    No of course not

    Yes they do

No, but your going to find 20 happy W/S drivers for every 1 unhappy one. and 9 times out of 10 that 1 unhappy driver is fresh out of school and cant handle trucking/OTR/LTL/ not having a trainer

I never said w/s was perfect but they are a good company. There are other good companie and they all have some bad things about them, BUT they dont far out number the good like these big companies that new drivers run too like idiots.

So let's use some examples here.

Say im a student, and I live in south Florida. Show me a company that in your book is considered good, and takes students from SOUTH Florida. I can tell you that living in Florida (as I do) makes your options slim, and that's with experience. Now a student? Ha, good luck. The general notion is you have to start somewhere when your options are slim.

thats nice, again no company is perfect, but why go to a POS carrier like werner/CRE/knight when you can deal with a few small issues with a company like WEL and drive a brand new KW while makeing good money and miles.....

My point exactly, if the company is on YOUR list of approved companies, then you consider any negative review to be false.

Where did you receive your CDL? Do you realize the companies you list as bad also tend to provide CDL training? Not everybody can fund their training via independent school. So it leaves less options once again. Alot of good drivers needed that "pos company" to get a foot in this industry because of limited resources. If someone is dedicated to getting into this industry, they will take the chance and opportunity provided. That's where the "good attitude " scenario comes into play. Not everyone can cake walk like you do. Not everyone needs a peterbilt, fingerless gloves and a hat/shirt with a trucker slogan on it to feel better about themselves.
