    Some do.

What's the purpose of your response, other than making it obvious that I stepped on a "feeler" by saying what I said??

I got no beef with the "old school" KW's and Pete's, but I sure as hell wouldn't want to foot the fuel bill for one, much less a couple hundred.

You know what truck I drive, call it a "plastic bubble" all ya want, but those other trucks mentioned above will never see the mpg's I get with my "plastic bubble"....:biggrin_25513:

So out of curiosity what kind of mpgs are you getting? I'm in a t660 getting high 7's and low 8's depending on the load and route. Yes that would be hard in a w9 but not all petes and kws are square.

About the same. Ive gotten as high as 9 running across 80 in Nebraska.
Correct, but I wasnt talking about all Pete's and KW's, just the ones with aerodynamics left out of the design process....which was fine, when diesel was cheap, but with fuel threatening to reach 5 bucks a gallon, well, you do the math.

    Kujo and Rick_C Thank this.

They're too many drivers who want a shiny chromed out large hood truck...well, chrome don't pay the bills.

New KW 680 looks pretty awesome and is their most aerodynamic model. TransAm should have some on the yard here soon.

ACT had a couple of the test trucks before they were released I was in love with it before I even knew what it was.

Here in Denver, Fedex Freight KW's daycabs, Mile hi foods KW's day and sleeper, Cast few Petes going all KW's, and Apex Petes and Kw day and sleeper cab. That's what's off the top of my head. All good paying companies, Western has very nice trucks but too low in pay IMO, but to me they have the best looking fleet hands down, even there day cabs are killer.

Your great for blanket statements. I just like pointing out the ignorance of them.

I've got a couple trailers I would like to see you pull. Would love to see your face when your MPG's are the same as my 700hp W9's. I have a 5.85 mpg fleet average with 4 W900's and one T800. 3 of the trucks pull overweight loads with multi-axle 108" wide conestogas and the other 2 pull grain hoppers doing short local runs. So your 7mpg pulling a smooth sided van under 80k isn't that impressive by comparison. I could raise my average if I drove around with 1/2 a load. LOL

7 mpg with 80k gross vs 5 mpg with 85k net.......

I'm getting 6.1 mpg on my W900 and I run 70 mph and idle like its going outta style. I'm usually about 75k. We got some with APUs and the drivers are running 65 that are near 7. If I owned this truck, stopped idling, slowed down, did a Pittsburg power rebuild, Pittsburg power muffler, fleet air filter, and those Michelin XDRs with a rolling resistance of 99, I'd be able to run well over 7 and still look better than you doing it.
