    You need to speak to a tax attorney about the way you've been advised on how to run your business ASAP. The IRS would be very happy to give you free counseling however I must tell you to be prepared to write lots of checks to them.

    If it is a Fed Ex straight truck job, he can actually pay them as a 1099 because they book their own freight and run where they want to. They are not dispatched or under the control of an employer. trust me, fed ex already went threw all the IRS stuff.

    Not saying this person has everything set-up right, but if they run their business the same way as the other fleet owners for Fed Ex CC then it is perfectly legal.

    Ok, that makes sense, He was saying "my drivers", "I'm a 1099 employer", instead he could have just said "I rent trucks to people". That is what it is.

    I have my cdl i went to dmv and got it. But i'am having trouble getting job because i have no otr. Plus since i'am a women i get turned down alot. What to do?

    I don't think you're gonna find any drivers on this board, but you can find all of the Trucker Lawyers ya need!

    There are tons of carriers who hire and train newbies. Schneider, JB hunt, covenant, swift, etc. if they wont hire you, there's something you're not telling us.
