I will agree with you. I had many #### jobs before going to YRC. They only cared that I know how to do the job and had experience. They told me they are very happy with having me here as well. Most of these companies know how the other companies are especially when they have others who are from them. So when they see he didn't wanna be OTR they will understand and when they hear how he's treated where he is now, they will understand as well.

I would give CT maybe 6 months. They arent anything but a cut rate ltl paycheck. not too shabby, but there is nothing holding you back from putting in apps at UPS (parcel or freight), ABF, Praxair, Linde, Bluelinx, or a lot of other better companies.
A lot of people seem to forget, the more you make, the less you have to work. I don't work to live, and if i can get some company to pay me a thousand dollars an hour, I'm not going to want to work all week, let alone LIVE in a truck.
Don't buy into the "I'm miserable, and my life sucks, and so should yours" arguement. Misery loves company......American-Trucker, epimax and CenutryClass Thank this. -

I dont know if im crazy or stupid, i'll let you guys decide since your going to anyway lol, But this morning i went in to interview or YRC Freight and just like central did they were all ready to hire me, W2's, drug test, physcial, 20+ videos right there waiting for meBUT i turned down the job, the guys face was priceless though lol

What was your reason for turning them down? -
i had a few actully: these are not in any particular order
1. 24/7/365 On call (extra bored)
2. up to 3 nights on the road (in a motel but still)
So basicaly he said my job is to sit around waiting for my phone to ring when there is a extra run (its still a full time job) but i wouldnt be doing the same run, or working a set schedual or hours.
Right now i have up to 14 hours to work mon-fri then for 10 hour in between and every weekend im free, i can deal with 70/hrs crap, rather then being on call. and not haveing regular time off. He said some times i would do out and back but sometimes it'll be a few days out and since i would be getting the left over runs i can only assume that means getting runs that keep you out as im sure the older guys want to go home at night...
Also i had been awake about 20 hours this morning just finished a 13 hour day, and they wanted me to fill out a mountain of paper work, watch 20+ videos, drug test, physical, etc and i still have to work tonight so i may not have thought it threw very well, but i like my weekends and im sticking too that as my excuse for not takeing the job.
The second i told him i wasnt interested he jumped right into pay/benefits eteThe money sounds great, he said only YRC and ABF pay that much but i've learned a long time ago the hard way that money isnt everything. I also think i may have burned myself out these last few years running so hard....

Sorry to hear all that.. I didnt even realize YRC had an extra board. I got a 8am start time everyday right away. Being the bottom guy I stayed home today for the first time due to it was slow. Other than that theres no phone calls to come in at weird times for myself. I knew one day you might stay in a motel but 3 is a bit long. My friend who works at the terminal north of us has only stayed out one day as a road driver and hes bottom as well. Oh well I guess its different nation wide... You will find something eventually though
And yes YRC and ABF do have great pay and benies. I will admit I only took the job at YRC because they told me you will have a 8am start time. If theres no work the shop steward calls you and tells you dont come in. Like i said only happened once which for 3 months I cant really complainAmerican-Trucker Thanks this. -
Good luck brother.American-Trucker Thanks this. -
