this would be .43 cents a mile plus .06 a mile trainer bonus and you only get the .06 when you have a student on the truck. home time is wrong its 28 days out(saying you have no break downs) with 4 days off.

you get 1 day for every 7 days your out so 28 days = 4 days home time. some dispatchers will allow you 5 but thats up to your dispatcher. my pay as a lead driver would be .47 cents a mile. .41 i get paid all the time plus .06 when i have a student on the truck with me.

They don't pay a lesser solo rate anymore? Or is that just the deal for lead drivers?

Yes they pay a lesser rate if you refuse to take on a team partner as "encouragement" to take on a partner. This is a team company after all if you want to solo there are still plenty of companies out thre that will take you. Trainers don't get docked unless they wait to long to tke another student.

I knew why they do it for the "regular" drivers. Good to see they don't do it to the leads while they are waiting for another student.

They run 150 students a week out of cedar rapids alone. CRST is hurting for trainers real bad. They can't afford to lose any lol

Wait until winter comes around...LOL. I remember they were begging me to be a trainer then. Nobody wants to train (team) a newbie in the winter.

Yeah but don't forget we were all "newbies" at one time or another. Someone trained us so it only fair that some of us pay it forward by training others in all seasons of the year meaning winter or construction season lol.

There is nothing wrong with training. If your anti-social then it could be a problem.:biggrin_25515:

Yes but they wanted me to be a trainer after only 8 months. I didn't feel I was ready so I turned it down.

That's the biggest problem with crst they have no standards for their trainers. Yet they can't figure out why their safety rating is so high. Let's see you have a greenhorn with only 8 months experience and barely knows how to drive the truck themselves training an even greener greenhorn with no experience on how to safely operate a truck. Seems to me that's a recepie for disaster.
