Keep it simple..
Think about it, you have the perfect hot plate under the hood.
Heavy duty aluminum foil is your friend.
You would be surprised what you can cook on an exhaust manifold.![]()

Onetruckpony ,,,
I am dieing to here about your engine meals ,,,,
I have seen this done on safari Shows , they put there catch, such as a fish on the Exhaust manifold then drive back to camp and when they get back they have a nice hot meal ready to eat ,,
I am sure there must be some Trial and Error before you get it down so you do not burn the food ,,,, or worst case forget its there all together lol
Thanks for that Tip Nothing like planing a hot meal and having it ready to eat at the end of your Drive . -
Been there and done that. I have impressed a few with my manifold cookingI-80Trucker and Onetruckpony Thank this. -
DEMO ,,,
Do tell !! i was wondering how one would go about keeping the foil and food from falling off, there must be some Technique and or tools other then just Foil ?
Thank you ,, -
The trick is to wrap whatever your cooking really well. Wrap it with about 3" extra foil on each end. Roll those ends, put the food, wrapped in foil on the top of the manifold. Bend the rolled ends 90 degrees and tuck them in the openings where the manifold connects to the engine.I-80Trucker and Onetruckpony Thank this. -
I think DEMO should give us a demo, or at least a pic. Seeing a trucker's culinary skills in progress would be awesome.

Cooking on your manifold is like cooking over a pine log campfire. Tastes like crap because of the toxic fumes!
Guys, don't cook on your exhaust, that's a "no brainer"! You would probably get arrested and accused for doing drugs if someone were to see you doing that!
Yes, get your cards ahead of time, that is why I mentioned it! It can take a few weeks to get your TA. Also another handy thing to have is a TCH card. This used to be the FlyinJ bank but should still be in biz! (at least they are still sending me statements) This is a regular bank account and every week just have $100 put straight in there from your direct deposit. This way you can get money at the truck stop without being charged hefty ATM fee's! There are also many other good benefits! For you newbies, depending on what bank you do business with you will find them constantly shutting off your debit card because they think it is stolen! Especially if you run team! This used to happen to us quite frequently! Its a pain in the ### to get it fixed! The TCH card eliminates this problem. It also works well to really budget yourself out there if you are only putting a minimal amount on there every week to live on.
