Why the Dislike of Denny's?

A bit hard to do if you are anywhere west of Denver. . .

Though there are plenty of AWful House restaurants around.

 

Don't visit Waffle House often due to my addiction to anything carby, but when I do I have to get a double order of hashbrowns scattered, covered, smothered, chunked, and diced. Then, I top the whole white-hot mess with two eggs, sunny-side up! Heaven on a plate!

went to Denny's at the J in Peculiar. I forgot how nasty it is to walk into a restaurant with a smoking section. Disgusting.

Went back the next morning for a 3 egg ham and cheese omelet, the smell just told me no thanks.

 

I just put a bunch of different food in a feeding sack, strap it to my head and eat while I drive.

For those of you who have a microwave you can spray a little bit of coating spray (Pam, etc) on a saucer, crack egg into it and stir (make sure you break the yolk so it doesn't explode), cook for a minute or so (may have to stir a little) and if you have a way to toast bread that is even better. Get the already pre-cooked bacon and heat for 10sec or so, add cheese to sandwich and mayo or whatever and you have a great cheap meal.

You can also make scrambled eggs this way, just stir more often, use a bowl if you have one, add a little milk or water and spices, stir, and don't over cook.

Free standing Denny restaurants are not that bad... The once they throw in the Flying J's are disgusting to say the least. Food is usually always overcooked (or has been sitting under a heatlamp for several hours). The breakfast is ok at best... I liked the buffet style restaurants better that they used to have.

 

The Flying J did like any place with the buffet have ones that were good and bad, I am just surprised that Denny's got in with them.

 

That's because it's not Flying J anymore. It's the Flying J division of PEElot Inc.
