    Float.

The clutch works well for shutting off the cruise control.

Float up, occasional clutch to get it out of gear going down...usually just the throttle though. Taught myself to double clutch just so I would know.

Put truck in first, ease out the clutch to move. Apply two finger pressure on shifter, release pressure on throttle at around 1500 rpm. you'll feel the shifter moving like butter, catch second.rinse repeat.

Heavy trucks have unsynchronized transmissions, which enable you to float gears...

Clutch only when starting from a dead stop. When coming to a complete stop just go to neutral at about 10 mph.

How do you use the Jake to slow the engine when you are using the clutch to shift? Doesnt your micro switch on the clutch pedal shut the Jake off?

I flip the 3 way switch to low for faster shifting. That does not mean FORCING your shifts, it just cuts the time it takes the engine to lose 400 RPM in half.

This will make perfect sense to the noobs in a few years.
