Hello too everyone, first off i apologize if I am posting this question in the wrong place. My question is: Is there any oilfield companies hiring drivers right out of Truck Driving School? I recently graduated and I only seem to find companies that want at least 2 years experience. Does anyone know anybody that is hiring in the oil field? I need to stick with North Dakota, Wyoming, or Utah.

    Thank you for your time.

I work for an oilfield company that does not require 2 years experience. There is actually a lot of oilfield opportunity here in West Virginia right now. I haul casing to these oil and gas wells. I was really surprised this company didn't require experience since we haul pipe. Pipe is dangerous. Everywhere here is advertising jobs though, Class A CDL preferred.

Try Sanjel. They operate out of Miles City Mt and out towards Williston ND. Not only do they hire new cdl drivers, but they also sent their none-CDL employees through CDL schooling (I shared a classroom with them in Billings). I also suggest you try out Craigslist (for Montana, use the city of Billings), and then look up "transport" jobs on the right column, they always got a ton of advertisements for oil field jobs. Good luck on your search!

Talk with some drivers in the oil patch first. It ain't your typical trucking job so I'd advise some research before jumping in.

Not the wrong place, this is exact right or maybe use the next thread.

There are companies that will but finding them involves showing up at field office with CDL ready to pass screening. There are companies that do so but in general those tend to be rougher to work for ~ those are not going to do a lot of fancy office stuff so you have to do the work yourself and show up ready to work - it can be done.

I am working Texas but what is involved should be similar for what we can do on the internet. I suggest starting with a map from the state agency office that does oilfield regulation then hang out at truckstops with cdl ready to go as soon as you hear useful information from some driver.
