I don't know why it happens, but there always seems to be a (company) driver who will always defend USA Truck. It don't matter what the subject is, YOU are the one wrong because the (company) can do no wrong in their eyes. I guess they counterbalance against the ones who think the (company) can do nothing right. It's getting close to 10 months now since I left USA Truck, and I am slowly beginning to see they actually did me a favor by terminating me. USA Truck did not poison my DAK so I landed on my feet with my current company, and have done OK since. I harbor no ill will toward anybody at USA Truck Cliff Beckham included. HOWEVER I could not in good conscience advise anybody to enter their training program at this point! Drivers such as Retiredsarge are a case in point! Retiredsarge is trapped in his contract and having trouble keeping his truck out of the shop. Yes, he will get valuable experience at USA Truck, but what does he use to buy food and pay his bills till such a time he can exchange said experience into a better paying job? I have posted elsewhere that anybody thinking about working for this (company) needs to seek out current drivers and ask them about life at USA Truck before you sign those C1 contracts! Read these forum threads carefully and try as much as possible to ignore the pro and negative hyperbole you will find.
I have said many times before there are some awesome people that work for USA Truck. I know and still have contact with many of them. If you can somehow get a good running tractor and a decent FM you can make money there, drivers do it everyday. The problems come when your tractor develops chronic mechanical problems over time and/or you get a butthole for a FM. These problems cause drivers to quit when their contracts are up or in the case of experienced drivers when they can't stand it any longer. The unassigned tractor problem is so bad the (company) management has put intense pressure on the recruiting dept to get warm bodies in the trucks. As I write this it's almost 4 AM so I will stop now, but it breaks my heart to see so many good people fall into this trap, and no matter what is said they will not listen to the warnings to stay far away from USA Truck! -
I saw a look on one of the employees at Van Buren last time I was there. We all know this person. " " That look of disgust was worth 10,000 words. I don't think they would be good words either.

well exray, if things dont improve soon, I will be on the first thing smoking out of here, contract or no contract. They should know the more a driver sits the more his brain weighs out the options and also starts fillng out applications to other trucking companies. And it is definately not my FM. He is fine but he is only one man and can only do so much. Its the rest of the company. I wont say anything about maintenance because that is no secret and everyone knows so no sense beating that dead dog. But EVERY single load coordinater or planner or whatever you want to call them should be FIRED!!!!!!!!!!!! They dont even do the simplest part their job. How are you going to set up a delivery to deliver by 7pm and you bust your ### to get there because your FM asked if you could please get it there today, only to find out that the receiving hours are from 6am to 2pm. Or told that you have to be there at a certain time and do not go early or late only to find out that the company has told USA truck on numerous occasions that they dont have appt's its a FCFS place. They dont even check to see if the phone number to the companies are valid. This isnt something that is extra that would be too much for them to handle...... THIS IS THEIR JOB!!!

All of these things could be argued are the LC's job. Well in a perfect world the LC would set up and verify everything. Since we don't live in said world, my loads are my moneyand I don't let anybody handle my money. It could be said that this is too much effort. Well... To that I say that ive had better luck handling things myself and waste less time. -
I usually do all of that myself. I was just stating frustrations. I cant seem to get to a terminal or a truck re assignment. I try to run hard and deliver early as much as possible. My FM says I am one of his drivers he never has to worry about and knows i run hard. But because of these retarded ### scheduling from the LC's its really messing up my mileage for the week. having to sit and wait to deliver.

Well had a level one consult from safety about my logs due to one day going over my 14 and I logged it as safe haven as I was told to do. And for one short run that I supposedly avg 66 mph. I know people who have a whole lot more on their logs than I did but they were not on the list to see safety. Go figure.
Btw, anyone know if the rumor is true about USA getting rid of all kw's. I heard someone wants to buy all of them and they were pulling them from the road. I know someone who was at VB yard today and said there was like 20 kw's in the sale lot. Just wondering if I need to get ready to move again to another truck.
