I am not sure what you are asking when you want to know where to start. Do you need help setting up the books? Federal requirements for a motor carrier? You can check the fmcsa website and find out what you need to do in order to be compliant as a motor carrier. Do you need assistance with the office side or motor carrier side? Do you need to understand what is needed in order to become a motor carrer?Last edited: May 27, 2012

You are already a failure with your holier than thou attitude.
BigBadBill and kw600 Thank this. -
I was hoping someone could explaine the above underlined in bold print for me, is the OP talking about truck insurance premium for the whole year? If so why do you have to have that paid in order to get your MC number, can't you start the policy with the portion that they request as a down to start the policy and proceed to your Applying for the MC number? -
Sure - if you have the extra $12K to pay the whole thing up front - why not?
RickErnest82 Thanks this. -
Is IFTA only needed for tractor trailers or for Straight Trucks too? -
IFTA is about "apportioning" fuel taxes between places where fuel is PURCHASED and where it's BURNED. IRP is about apportioning REGISTRATION FEE'S amongst the states you would like to operate.
Check JJKellers article on IFTA: http://www.jjkeller.com/webapp/wcs/...yClearinguptheConfusion-102010_10151_-1_10551Ernest82 Thanks this.
