Worked out fine, just had to secure the load with straps, drive back out to the main gate to go over the scale again, then come back to the shipping office, then tarp.

There are quite a few shippers who have scales and require weigh ins and outs. This is very convenient since, if the load is too heavy or needs to be shifted, it can be done right there without having to leave, find a scale, and come back if there's a problem.

591 miles in 10 hours drive time; interstate the whole way. Minor traffic delay in Nashville, dived off I24W onto I40W just in time to miss 2 lanes being shut down; the CB radio actually came in handy today.

Now at the Petro off I-57/I-70 in Effingham, IL, about 5 miles from consignee in Teutopolis.

Happy to help. Glad you found the info useful :)

The more we help each other out, the better for everyone. A guy at the customer site helped me fold my lumber tarps this morning. Life is good in the Karma lane ;)

Smooth operation this morning. Unloaded with no wait. Now at Effingham, IL Pilot waiting on load assignment. I only have 10 hours left on my 70 and gain 10 more tomorrow. Will need to trip plan and watch time carefully.

Many law enforcement agencies were setting up for the annual inspection blitz that runs yesterday thru tomorrow. I usually get a prepass signal to bypass weigh stations but yesterday had to go through two. In KY I had to go on a scale and wait. The light stayed red. Just then a trooper got out of his car and was walking to the scale house. I asked him if i should wait for a green light to proceed. He looked at the light and said, "It's probably hung up, let me go check." He went inside and about a minute later the light changed to green.

Deadheaded 216 miles to Marseilles, IL to get a load of steel pipe headed a coincidental 216 miles for Union City, MI. Was supposed to be a pre-loaded trailer but it ended up being a live load. Ran short of hours near the Gary terminal so parked here for the night. The MT miles should help the fuel consumption average a little bit. The stated goal for this month is 7.45 mpg. Nearly impossible to make unless you run MT a lot and/or have a good wind at your back. Having a heavy load up and down hills or trying to go into a strong headwind will send the consumption through the roof.
