    Changed injectors.
The amount of smoke changed but still there.
We also found there is diesel dilution in the oil.

My mechanic says he thinks when the new injectors were fitted they were over torqued.
The manual we have says 30NM then 60 degrees.
He says this is way to tight and the junior mechanic should have picked this up.
    I'm not sure.
He says he thinks the over torque has caused a hairline crack in the head where the injector seats.
The mechanic thinks because of the way the back leakage works through the injector pocket then through a port in the head we are getting diesel leaking on to the piston overnight.
That or a poor injector seat in the head.
Put original new injectors back with new seating washers.
If still smoking on cold start up we will pull the heads.

Seen this too with coolant, but if you already know of the fuel in the oil, you're probably right!

Pulled the exhaust manifold off last night.
Left it till this morning to get cold as it does mot smoke when it is started later in the day when it has warmed up.
Started it up and found the smoke is coming from number 1 and number six.
    Pulled both heads off.
Gasket appears to be seating perfectly.
No visible damage to any pistons or bores.
That is what I was worried about.
Remember only about 10 000 miles from inline.
No visible cracks on the heads.
Will send the heads in for testing next.

    Got heads back today.
The engineering shop had a battle getting new valve guides as the local agents didn't have any.
They say valves on no 1 were slightly bent.
I don't know that this makes sense.
    No cracks or anything.
We will fit them tomorrow and see if the problem has gone away.

Still exactly the same , still smokes white for about a 1 min after cold start.
Now we are just throwing money at the problem.

I personally think the OEM agents that had the truck for a few days did not run all the tests or even change the parts they said.
    3 reasons.
    (1) My tracking report shows that the truck only started and moved 1 hour before we collected it. this is after after they said they had been on the truck running tests for days.
(2)They said they changed diesel pump but there is no evidence of this.
    (3) They have not charged me for a single thing.

This really upsets me as I now have thrown a bunch of money at a problem because the agents lied to me about the tests they carried out.
I will ask them for job cards and if they cant produce I will know 100% for sure.

Sent the truck in to the main dealer today.
They say they will start it first thing tomorrow morning and see if they can come up with anything.

The main dealer started the truck this morning and observed the bellows of white smoke.
After a minute or so the smoke disappeared.
They ran diagnostics all day with the Davie tool (Diagnostic computer).
They say everything comes back perfect and they cant find any faults whatsoever.
They say they checked all wiring , the whole fuel system, compression etc.
They re calibrated and re set everything , cleaned all connections.
They say they will leave it overnight and see tomorrow morning.

I would almost bet the timing gear is installed one tooth off.
