Deadheaded back to Gary to pick up a relay - a steel coil going to Georgetown, KY.

Now at a rest area off I-74 in southeastern Indiana near the IN/OH/KY borders.

Another Roehl driver, also with a coil going to the same location, is parked next to me. This is his first solo flatbed load, having switched over from van recently.

Bumping up very close against my 70 hour limit. I get about 7.5 hours back tomorrow and then 6 the next day. I feel a 34 hour reset coming on this weekend... Hopefully it will work out to include a layover day with a load.

Delivered the steel coil early (even though appointments are made, this consignee will allow entry and unloading, in order of arrival at pretty much anytime, despite what the load assignment messages say). Afterward, went to the nearby Pilot and called my FM to suggest a shorter weekend run to include a reset day. She said that was likely to happen. By the time I got back from scanning the paperwork from the previous load, a new assignment was received. Deadheaded to Ghent, KY to pick up 3 stainless steel coils bound for Kenosha, WI. I am now at the Gary terminal, got fuel, washed the truck, had a shower, and ready to head up to a location near the consignee tomorrow morning. I plan to get there in time to claim 48 hours of layover pay and take the 34 hour reset. Even though I have done these resets before, this is the first time I actually need to do it. It all seems to be working out...

My appt was at 1330 today but the consignee unloaded me 3 hours early so I am waiting for the next dispatch here in Kenosha, WI. My guess is Saukville but you never know for sure...

Spent the weekend in Oak Creek, WI collecting layover and doing the 34 hour reset. Left the trailer at our drop lot around the corner from the Love's & Pilot truck stops, so that gave a little more freedom to park and move around a little. Didn't really move the tractor much; just enough to keep the sun at the back instead of the windshield, since it was quite warm. Did a lot of walking around the area, including to a grocery store and a good Chinese restaurant.

I got out of the KY loop. Somehow. I'm heading to OH for early Wednesday, so I'm sure I'll get sucked back in soon enough. lol

Something (or rather somewhere) different to be sure: picked up a relay of gypsum ceiling at the Oak Creek, WI drop lot headed for... San Antonio, TX. ~1300 mile run :)

Now at Thornton's Pilot in Lincoln, IL with a shade more than 1000 miles to go. Will try for a 600+ mile run tomorrow with a destination arrival goal of Wednesday afternoon
