Drive-a-way company, driver turnover

look into a soft hitch. they clamp to bumpers or walk in trucks. I am not sure if that is the technical name or not but that is how I have always known them.

 

Thought I'd compile a list of all the driveaway companies I've heard about here and found on Google. Now, most of these haven't been researched by me, so make sure you research a company before deciding to join it. Here's the list:

Pinnacle auto transports web site is not much to speak of.

They weren't "going the extra mile" when they designed their web site.

I know, book by the cover and all.

Anyone know about them?

I did see and applied to Auto Truck Transport a few hours ago.

I liked the paid hotel, flight and bennifits they offered.

It has to be a forced dispatch company though (I can see that they din't want you to work 2 or 3 days a week and still get medical) and no mention of how many days/miles they expect you to be out.

It looks like it's primarily delivering stacked new trucks so you have to take tools with you for seperation/reassembly and don't know about getting the tools to and through the airport without a hand dolly to drag them around.

Here is their pitch.

Coldiron you might take a look at, they have a option to buy a special trailer for your toad and they claim it to be a good money maker, but Auto Truck Transport is a union shop ive not heard alot of complaints from thier drivers and Id recommend them over being independent contractor any day.

 

The reason why I say that is cause alot are only independent contractor jobs and you have no rights. From what I understand with ATT you pay union dues of $50 a month, you pay nothing for medical or dental or life. They pay a percentage match for retirement, offer bonuses, paid vacations, 12 paid holidays a year, you cant just get fired for nothing, the union protects you and so your treated better than as you would a contractor. Tryed turning in an application a while back, they said i had good experience but got the same message as Archangel2003 :/

 

So who are you with now? I'm looking for a good company and I've heard about Auto Driveaway and drivers seem to like them.

Also, Auto Driveaway www.autodriveaway.com moves everything cars, trucks, straight trucks, step vans, tractor trailers, buses, etc. I have heard many good things about them and I have my first step van move across county tomorrow. They have always been in the commercial truck driveaway business, but have grown the business greatly over the last 3 years. Maybe they are treating drivers better??? The pay is a little more than what anyone described above. The downside is no tow car, and you are an independent contractor, but the upside is $$$$$. I'm excited. I will keep everyone posted on how it worked out! Be safe!
