The question with this part off your statement is why did the O/O sell this "perfect truck"?

Never said anything about a perfect truck. Only mentioned a o/o with records that you can base your decision on vs. the slip seated fleet mobile. Those usually come with a blanket statement of "this came from a great company" & no records.
First truck I looked at had plenty of records with it. So much so that I decided against it. Having a history to a truck is not a automatic buy, it is just a indicator to use for reference. Maybe I am doing this all wrong? -
I've been looking at hoods 379exhd/w900l and id love one. I pull flatbed with future plans of doing heavy haul and OD. For me I'm trying to find info on Mack's, particularly the pinnacle rawhide edition, the ones that kinda took the place of the old CH models. In my opinion that would be a good compromise for me, id get a decent turning radius with a mean/classic looking truck.
I can't find any info on reliability, especially for the new MP engines. Might be looking in the wrong place though lol.

^ ugly as sin and if my company bought a bunch of those, I would buy my own 379 and lease on to them because I would not drive that ugly thing.

Well. I have a hood. 96 3406e upgraded to 550 hp. I yank a spread reefer. My last quarterly I averaged 5.23 on all miles. It is what it is. If ya like the look then there is a price to pay. It's kind of like a luxury tax so to speak. I mean you don't buy a vette expecting 50mpg do you? It's about status. Not that any other truck is bad. But c'mon. Nothing sexier than a hood with a spread axle reefer. Also knock at least 1/2 a mpg for yanking around a spread without a lift axle. Oh yeah don't forget about your air gap as well. If you like feeling the heat from your reefer get you a 215" wheelbase. If ya don't then I wouldn't go anything less than 275". It's also nice to be able to open the doors and check the oil or whatever and just stand on the catwalk. What I am saying is its different strokes for different folks. There is no right answer. It's all about what you want.
kw9's rock, DrtyDiesel and DThompsonNGI Thank this. -
