Maybe retired? Maybe down sizing? Maybe someone that fell into the whole areo gotta get better mpg thing? In my case was a close friend that passed and his widow was wanting to sell to someone that knew him and would take care of the truck, she didn't want to see it running around all beat up and trashed buy some dirt hauler.

I never had the big hood fever. After the original T600 "anteater" came out, I have liked aero hoods ever since. I can see better, they are easier to maneuver in tight spots, and I don't have to look around stacks when backing. And the added plus of any mpg gains over a big hood. A big hood may turn some heads, but I view it as just another truck. I'm just not into trucks that way. I don't even get a woody over the Shell Super Rigs calendar or going to a truck show. It is a tool to get a job done and that's it. I like it clean and looking nice, but I also wipe down my other tools when I am done with them.

I'm into trucks how a person is into muscle cars, its not just a tool but something you want or have to enjoy. I can't enjoy driving a prostar like I enjoy driving a 389. My brain just can't comprehend it. I gotta feel good about the truck I drive or else I don't enjoy it, and to feel good about it I gotta like the way it looks.
But that's me, I also pull flatbeds. So having an Aero hood doesn't give me any advantage. I have a prostar and am conservative on my fuel usage. I still have yet to see higher than 6.8mpg with the loads i pull. I know for a fact a guy hauling flats pulling heavier than me gets better MPG with his n14 powered 379.

Newbie Questions: I read all 9 pages and learned a lot but you guys use lots of words that are unique to this field. What is:
Paccar
Shaker
Heck while I'm asking what is:
Forced dispatched
Lane
Authority
I searched here (and on Google) for a truckers dictionary thread but didn't find much, of course CB terms are out there. If anyone can point toward a trucker dictionary/word list I'll try and stop asking these kinda questions.
THANKS -
Shaker is Freightliner also.called freightshaker.
Forced dispatch is when you work for a company and you can't refuse loads, you have to take what they send you unless your hours dictate otherwise
Lane I'm guessing is freight lanes aka main roads and routes that freight travels.
Authority is basically you're your own company. You're an independent driver who finds his/her own freight and owns his/her own truck.
If i missed anything or am not correct on anything please comment.
