Well, I was trying not to spend all the money it costs to fax 6-7 pages. But even if they didn't have it, it would have been nice for someone to respond with that info. I'm going to give it another day or two and try again. If it somehow got lost in the mail I'll spend the money to fax.

    Thanks for the info.

I'm also unemployed right at the moment, but am actually about to start driving for a very small company (7 trucks) out of Lansing, MI this very week.
Talked them up to .38/mile, but the guy wants to pay me 1099. Told him no, that I needed company paycheck. He also doesn't want to pay deadhead miles over 60 miles. He is going to pay me by normal payroll deduction. He also said they will keep me very busy.

I had read about Poly-America, and really thought about applying, but it seems they have pretty low turnover rate, and if it's hard to get in the door and takes a while for them to process an application, I can't continue to not work for 5-6 more weeks for the mere prospect of landing a better job. At 48 cents a mile, I'm sure they are getting applications left and right.

I sure hope things work out with this new guy I'm about to work for. Hope I'm not making a bad decision.

Poly seems to be 1 of the better paying companies out there. The only ones offering higher pay seem to be union outfits.

The fastest way to apply and hear back from them is to print the application from the website, filling out with an ink pen, then scan the.completed app back onto your computer and save it as a PDF file. Attach the PDF to an email and send it to: jobs@poly-trucking.com

I finished my 3 stop GA. load yesterday in Albany, and went up to Stockbridge GA to pick up my back haul. The back haul is bringing me back to Dallas and I will deliver it tomorrow morning. I'm on the outbound board for tomorrow and I'm shooting for a trip to Mass or upstate New York so I can swing by the house in Louisville for a day.

I'm going to crank up my efforts when I get home next week. I'm not spending any more time in a truck with these POS batter-powered HVAC systems in them. They're worthless when it's over 90 degrees outside, and if that's the case, how will they be in the cold?

No sir...I'm done with these. I'll find a company that either allows a reasonable idle percentage or has traditional APUs. No more of this BS for me.

But I must say that after two unanswered e-mails asking questions, I'm not too sure about Poly either. No way to make an impression, IMHO.

That would frustrate me as well. I have nothing else to offer. Except, try again.

After I returned to the yard Monday morning with only an hour left on my 14 & only 5 hours available till Wed. midnight I set my availability for Wednesday. Unfortunately, due to lack of outbound freight I had to wait til Thursday. Didn't get good load offers even then. However, I chose a short run down to Dayton,TX for Friday (today) 0730 in hopes to get a backhaul out of our facility in Mount Belvieu,TX going to our facility in Henderson,NV which would allow me to pass though the house. Praise God I'm going to due just that.

I will have only 1800 miles for the week with two days off & a night at home. So I won't complain. Especially after having two weeks back to back of 3700 miles, & an up coming week with the same potential since I'm going out west.
