I run Linehaul for Con-way out of XBO. I never ran truckload, i graduated from their new driver school.

Paper logs and a lot of dock work. And pulling doubles sucks sometimes.

thanks man for ur advice......Now my cousin decide not to team with me cuz he got a new job so decide not to drive....SO..NOW I dont know what to do.. what can u recomend me...?...shoul i go solo OTR with conway...or...go directly to con way freight..?....

i dont mind to be in the road 3, 6 or 8 week OTR...but i know for sure i will going to do it for 1yr and after that i would like to be a Trainer for student,,i mean if they really pay goods.... i heard they get paid good , ( trainer miles and student miles ).

BUT.. If i go OTR and then decide to go freight...i know i will be starting from the bottom and i will waste that year on OTR
    so..what u recomend me ..?..

    Thanks again...

@ RoadWarrior......Hey man, just run OTR for a year as a solo driver. Get the experience and then transfer to the freight side. That year that you spend OTR is not gonna be a waste of your time, and it's not going to be detrimental to your plans on going local! Don't over-think it man! You can make good money OTR, and it's only gonna be for 12 months. Be on the freight side before you know it. Just my 2cents!! Good luck with whatever you choose!

Not bad advice, but with seniority based employment the earlier you start the better. I've never driven a day OTR and it has not been detrimental to me. I can trip plan, read a map. I can/do run Donner every night pretty much near gross and I do pretty ok. I can chain faster than alot of these OTR guys. Funny to see them come asking me to help them chain as theyve never done it. Knock on wood I havent been in an accident and plan to stay that way.

It just depends on your learning curve really.

I thought you weren't allowed to pull doubles with a twin screw in CA? (Not to get off topic just curious.)
