None of this ever bothered me. Park your reefer beside me, idle your truck. I sleep through it all and still always wake up 15 mins before the alarm. Now if you decide to blast some of that hillbilly country crap right at my truck while I'm in it we may have words
So I parked at the far quiet end of the truckstop.....

Why don't ya'll do what I do and sleep off the beaten path? I never sleep at truck stops, I go to receivers or shippers and sleep along the street, i sleep on on/off ramps and last night I slept at a small card only fuel stop in the corner of the parking lot and didn't have one single truck drive by me all night.

I pull a reefer and still don't like hearing it run all night.
I do have respect for those who do not idle when its cool at night.
I will move to another spot if at all possible.I like sleeping with the truck not running myself.
Our loads only need to be kept below 65 degrees so i get it about 40 degrees while running and when i park the reefer is put into sleep mode. Everyone is happy...lol! -
Guy might have been trying to be nice to other drivers in general. If you're going to drop a trailer in a truckstop I thought the norm was to do it on the back row so you wouldn't take a spot closer to the building. As far as the idling dude he may have had a CPAP running off the inverter or just had different standards for what "comfortable" is. I usually have a fan going in the bunk just to provide a little white noise so all the comings and goings don't bug me so much.

i quit sleeping on ramps after $150 or so tickets in Tn and In....the In ticket actually had points.
Shaggy76 Thanks this. -
Actually i recently found some papers that said its 29 years...also it was far from the last spot, the t/s was less than 50% full... he just didnt think.

Well, for what its worth, I Agree with the OP. It seems as if there is an EMPTY TRUCK STOP with plenty of parking options, Some REEFER will always find the spot next to a FLAT BED with his reefer on CONTINUOUS and its ANNOYING. Sure, Middle of night and no where else to park, fine. Truck stop almost full, No problem..... 20 Spots, and im in the back corner away from everyone, there is 3 or 4 reefers over on another row and you come park RIGHT NEXT TO ME... im LIVID, because its inconsiderate and rude....
treedodgingfool Thanks this. -
At almost $4 per hour, who buys your fuel? -
Raiderfanatic Thanks this.

Nothing like pulling my old Shiny Hiney between a couple flat bed drivers. The impression on their face is Price less.
