Honestly, sir, from what I have seen they have a lot million mile+ drivers here. You cannot carry over the miles with another company if you reach 1 million safe driving miles, because you have to start from scratch with these people. Although, if in fact, you have a million safe driving miles, which is really good, but they want you to have a million safe driving miles with them, so I can understand their logic behind it.
Stay Away from Conway Truckload!!

If I say I run (insert any number here) miles a week, somebody will jump on and expect me to put my pay stub up for proof.
Or if your positive, your a recruiter.
A person can say what they want, good or bad.
Me personally I think @ CWTL the good or positive out weigh the bad.
It's easy to get caught up in a negative cycle.
It's also easy to spout off when your anonymous. (Everybody that knows me, knows who I am).
Its just like the CB of years gone.
I guess I need to add to my signature that I am not a paid spokesman, nor have I ever made a dime off of recruiting.Last edited: Jul 1, 2012

If your in Joplin, there drivers lounge wall is full of 1 million milers pictures.
The thing is, back in the day, that was 1 million accident free miles, I don't think that holds true today.
The same with the ring you get at 360,000 (I think), and the added diamonds 120,000 (again I think) thereafter.
Those used to be for accident free miles, now its miles.
Back in the day you got a safety award ring (safety award is on the ring), where as now, it is a service ring (service award is on the ring).
Personally, I think those awards should remain safety driven, just as the safety quarterly bonus program is.
The award is softened by handing them out to everyone. But that is where we are in this land, everybody gets a trophy, or has expectations, even when they aren't earned. -
It's rare, I get on the CB radio and talk, I am enjoying listening to the XM Satellite Radio, and listening too the Blue Collar Comedy on XM channel 97. The only time that happens if there's a back up on the interstate from a wreck, or something of that nature. Usually, I do not like to post anything unless it has some relevant factors in what I am about to say. My wife has seen the downward spiral from a previous employer and what they did to me, but I am not the type to just jump from one company to another, and I have to get all of the information I can before making my decision. Guess that explains the gray hair on a man means, they are full of wisdom, and believe me I have plenty of gray hairs. and they have names on them......lol -
Honestly, I cannot remember, but I would say that is really close to be very true, and I have a friend that just came back to Con-way Truckload, because he saw the good in this company. As matter of fact, I just talked to him this morning, and he is in Binghamton, New York right now as we speak. My friend got his ring for safe driving miles with these people. He is even coming back with his seniority, and he picks up where he left off. We still get the quarterly safety bonus. -
FAT SLOB your a rookie two yrs driving really? You need to shut up and wait till you have a minimum of 5 yrs exp before you conservativly speak up like this again and show your ignorance. I've been driving for nearly 20 yrs OTR and the last two yrs have been with Con-Way Truckload. And NO I'm NOT a paid blogger. My trk #to is 35900 for the moment. Why you ask? Well here's info to educate you FAT SLOB.. As a company driver I've always averaged 2700 to 3700you miles per week. But FAT SLOB I DO NOT SIT IN TRUCK STOPS feeding my face playing video games yaking on the ph or whatever. O bviously this also means I average between $950. to. $1100 per wk. I'm on fleet 16 with a lady named Jerlynn as my Fleet Mgr. Im about to go O/O Jan 13 bought a Volvo 780 and guess what FAT SLOB! IM leasing on to yep you guessed it CON-WAY TRUCKLOAD!! Why! I could explain but won't waste my time to a ROOKIE FAT SLOB but the monet I quoted before were net figures NOT GROSS. And as a owner op with CON-WAY just goofin off driving 2500 miles per wk! AFTER ALL EXPENSES I will clear OVER $7-K per month. So FAT SLOB if your not happy with Con-Way? Some suggestions.. get off your FAT SLOB ### and start driving. Two.
get on the ph and talk with your FM and three LEARN QUICK IF you. ThenTwant to go home every two wks then DO NOT EXPECT to make more then 5 to 6 hundred gross per wk with a GOOD company. I'm sure there are many ole timer drivers who'll tell you the same. You can make good money driving a truck. BUT IT'S NOT a 9 to 5 job! You will earn that good money IF YOU DRIVE! You WILL NOT if you don't! So FAT SLOB! WITH RESPECT! Shut up and learn the industry! Or GO BACK to working some retail job for minimum wage and bein home each night starvin and leave truck driving to the REAL MEN! REAL TRUCKERS...you and us would probably be a lot safer if you did just stay home. Take care and Happy New Year!drvrtech77 Thanks this. -

Well friend at least you tried to be polite in calling me a liar! Again I AM NOT A PAID BLOGGER FOR CON-WAY TRUCKLOAD! I truly do drive for this company. My company trk # is 35900 I run out of Con-Ways Lancaster TX Terminal on Danieldale Rd. Anyway im not saying you OR the other guy may NOT have had a bad experience with Con-Way. What I am saying is that there is NO perfect trucking companies. But at the same time, In MY OPINION with my experience. Con Way is by far one of the best outfits I've driven for. But you have to look at it this way friend. When yoou drive for an organization as large as Con-Way. You HAVE TO be able to learn quickly how to WORK there program. Also you HAVE TO be willing to STAND YOUR GROUND as a driver in order to get. the real miles. Con-Way has over 3000the trks on the rd and lots of freight to move. With load planners committing the company to more freight by the hour. Which is then assigned to dispatchers whose ONLY concern is to get that freight on a truck moving with NO CONCERNS as to how mant miles a load has! It's THE DRIVER who has to LEARN a companies NOT JUST Con-Way's major freight routes, along with what area's of the country a trk company contracts its freight from. Then COMMUNICATE, and work with your dispatcher understanding THEIR position acknowledging their job mindset in order to get them to acknowledge YOURS regarding keeping YOU THE DRIVER centrally located where the company has the MOST freight running which in turns racks up miles for the driver. Sure I'm a not saying that I as a Con-Way driver don't you have bad weeks. I WOULD BE LYING! IF I was to make that claim. But sorry friend your driving record, attitude is not a factor. What IS ...is your ability to look at your JOB as a business for investment into yourself as the driver! You HAVE TO KNOW the industry, your company, the freight lines, and how to work yourself into the better miles. There is NO COMPANY going to give you consistant miles. BUT out of them all CON-WAY is one of the few companies that has an OPEN DOOR to knowing their complete operations, which in turn makes it one of the EASIEST companies this ole trucker has seen regarding. Working the company to BENIFIT MY WALLET!!! Take care and good luck as your experience grows you WILL learn how to work ANY company instead of complaing as to a company NOT GIVING you you on a silver platter what you want. You work for the company they don't have work for YOU! AND NEVER WILL UNTIL you as a driver LEARN how to make the company WORK for YOU! Again take care and good luck.
