Periodic exemptions from the HOS are not unusual. However, I doubt there will be exemptions from EOBRs.
Why CSA 2010 and E-Logs are a good thing.

That is a scary taught that a semi loaded with such a flammable load has a driver that doesn't respect HOS.
You just made a very good argument for EOBR's. -

Waiting in line doesn't give you a good night rest.
(btw i have read reports on this forum from several fuelhaulers and none have complained about long waiting times, offcourse you might be in a totally different area)
What you are doing is covering the real problem which is loading time.
Imagen if you were on EOBR's,and your fellow fuelhaulers also.
The transition period in the switchover might be rough, but once have then.................do you then really think that nothing would be done about the loading times?
Wouldn't your life then not improve?
Unless you were paid on an hourly rate, you would earn more and work less.
My dear sir,you have just made the case in favor off EOBR's and CSA.
Your situation is excatly what they are trying to be done with.
And they are right to do so.scottied67 Thanks this. -

What I do know is this, the oil companies get what they want... we deal with them all the time. That is why I and some other fuel haulers think that we likely will be exempt from the EOBR's and it will be back to business as usual... unfortunately.Cat sdp Thanks this. -
I have no doubt that there will be exemptions to the EOBR mandate. There should be NO exemptions. Obamacare was supposed to force everyone to purchase insurance. I read someting not long ago that stated that there have now been 15,000 exemptions. Laws should be the same for everyone. I have no doubt that we will see the same thing with the EOBR's. If you are a major campaign contributor you have the politicians ear and get your exemption while everyone else if force to spend money they could use on something that is really needed.

I don't think there will be exemptions to the EOBR reg, but I do think we will continue to see the exemptions to the HOS that we have seen before.

If we have some who are exempt from the hos then there will be no need for them to have the EOBR's.
