somewhere it was brought to my attention that the reason the eobr was brought around. is because the majority of us don't know how to fill out a log.
so i've been doing a little digging into the safety stats of carriers big and small. anyone i can think of right off hand that's been around for awhile. and i'll be darned if not every carrier i looked at has a score of above 80 in the driver fatiged section. ((meaning log violations)) the only company i couldn't find. was walmart
the only other reason eobr was brought around was for micro management.
but as for safety. that box is a danger to society. the human body isn't a machine. it wasn't designed to function according to time.
as for running illegal. yall need to get off that mentality.
as for miles. sure, i can see some people improving due to better planning. but let's be realistic. if you're not taking a 34. then your not using up your 70. which means you still aren't running the miles to your full potential. but hey, who doesnt have days where they wished they only had to drive 400 miles and get a little golfing in.

Again..if you run legal, you shouldnt have a problem with Elogs.
LaBubba Thanks this. -
what does elogs have to do with running legal.
tghere you go insinuating AGAIN.
and by the way. that semi i saw last night. the one that won't be seeing his wife and kids anymore. he had a qualcomm.
and since your all worried about covering your own arse should you get in an accident. somehow, i don't think he'll be covering HISS -
I enjoy my eobr. Less stress. More Miles. Better planned.
I hope they mandate them for everyone... Some of you protest too much while claiming you log legal.
Again, just like many people have said, If you log legal you will have no problem... Its the "fudgers" and cheaters that will have a problem.NavigatorWife Thanks this. -
The people who run illegal, fear eobr's.........and you know it. -
Better go and read what mr lahood has put into the eobr mandate. Recording of everything, time, speed, location... And all to be easily retrived by DOT on the roadside. Via a cable, but also via microwave transmission like prepass, but with much more data sent.
Elogs are only a small part.x#1, NavigatorWife and steelbeltsdrumming Thank this. -
I think people are just fighting the wrong battle. ELogs aren't the problem but they show how absurd and horrible the HOS rules are. At the least there needs to be a Local home every day set of rules and an OTR set. To make OTR drivers sit for 10 hours is just absurd. That is written for a Driver who spends those other two hours driving to and from work. I am sorry I dont effin need a 10 hour break in OTR. Humans only require far less sleep than 10 hours. The 14 hour rule is also written exclusively for local drivers so there boss cant make them stand around the dock all day and then dispatch them. It creates far more problems in an OTR world making people frantic and hurried to get their duties done in that window where we used to make our own daily shcedule and could actually god forbid take a nap or two during the day.
Anyway going off on a rant sorry.
There is nothing wrong with ELOGS , they only show how stupid the rules are. Don't hate hate player hate the game.KE5WDP, MiFamilyGuy and LaBubba Thank this. -
