If you have any kind of insurance, usually it will cover it... but i did not have insurance.. so i had to eat the cost myself...what happened to me is that i had a test done when i had insurance last year and then insurance ran out ...so i never followed up on it... well when asked i mentioned it ...and they did follow up on it... and this was the result...so i don't have anyone to blame but myself for this pickle just trying to do what is right ya know.. silence is the golden rule ...just forgot that that's all...

Ah... not really. A little known fact is that the medical insurance companies have a cooperative venture known as the Medical Information Bureau. If you had a diagnosis that involved some sort of insurance coverage for payment, a record of that diagnosis is maintained there. Its a hedge against people scamming the system.

BTW, if you can afford airfare to Springfield, they will reimburse you up to the cost of a bus ticket there. Some folks have found that its very affordable, so you might want to look into it.

If you have not been diagnosed you wouldn't need a home doctors clearance and equipment to come to Prime.

You'd come to Prime get flagged at the Physical, take the test, if you fail and are diagnosed the whole thing is around $1900 taken out of your paycheck at $55 per week interest free. Includes test, equipment, and monitoring service.

If you pass (no apnea) then the test is less than $300.

I'm 5'5', 170lbs., my wife says I snore but I've never heard it. I sleep well. No problems.
Q: Does snoring mean I have sleep apnia?

    not necessarily.

If your under the BMI limit the only two things that could trigger a sleep study is the answers you give to a sleep questionnaire during your physical or if your neck size is large and your airway is somewhat restricted by your uvula, tonsils or the shape of the back of your throat when the doc looks.

Yeah the cost of the sleep study sucks if the doc says you need one... but Ive had at 2 trainees that were larger guys that passed the test. Ive met others too.

So it can go 3 ways. 1. no test is needed determined by the doc. 2. you take the test and pass. 3. you take the test and fail and have to use the machine.

Well, I don't have a fat neck and I've never heard me snore. My wife says it's not loud or outrageous and only occasional. If I use nasal strips I don't snore at all, so, I guess I can pass?

aren't medical records are sealed unless given permission to get in to.. tho? at least that is what i heard when many others said i should have just kept my mouth shut ...they further explained to me that it comes down to liability what the company don't know they cant be labial for ...but make no mistake that if something were to happen all the liability is going some where like strait on your head...so doing the right thing is a much better idea in my book even know it can be a bit more complicated but as my dad always told me"if the right thing was easy everybody would be doing it "...i don't think anybody would want to wonder if god forbid something were to happen if they would have just been honest if this could been avoided...i know i dont
