since your profile says your not a trucker. i'd guess you'd know exactly what i'm talking about. wouldn't you. since you don't drive the nationwide highways for al living.

Hey nobody said we were perfect. Im far from it but let me tell u a few things. First off most of us VETS dont scream at customers shippers or recievers. We have earned the respect out here after many years on the roads. Most vets know the system and how many vets trucks do u see that look like a bomb went off in it. O/O Take pride in our trucks. I would not be out here if I couldnt control my temper just because of a shipper or reciever. You want to knock the vets one day u may thank one for helping u out.

Oh, my bad. I was making broad generalizations about "veteran truckers"

I guess I wasn't aware that it's a one way street. Only you "vets" have the right to complain about a class of truckers.

Ive got less respect for some of you... At least the newbs don't know any better than some of the antics you vets pull.

Can someone tell me at what point in my experiance level I might encounter more "adult" acting veterans or do I just regress in civility and become one of the club... And accept these "vets" behavior because mine will have diminished to something similar to theirs?

Yup. Pumpkin driver in early 2000's for a couple of years. Switched to Werner and utterly hated their "electronic logs". Then I left the industry for a while.

When I came back into trucking in 2010, it was with big orange again. They were just switching over to the new qualcomm elog system. I was dreading the change, and I put off getting my truck into the shop for as long as possible. When they finally forced me to get the new qualcomm, I didn't trust it at all. I kept a paper log along side of elogging.

Exactly seven days later I tossed my paper logs for good, lol. I love elogging, and I'll never voluntarily go back to paper logs.

I have to be dragged into new things kicking and screaming, apparently. I don't like change, but this change was very, very good, imo.

    Good luck to ya.

Interesting how a Paper / Elog debate turned into a Veteran / Newbie dispute.

Thing is all newbies will eventually become veterans in any field of employment. And not all veteran truckers act like the desciption used :( nor are all newbies as dumb as a box of rocks as many imply :).

No, they do not have to "Grandfather" older trucks. That is an option, but, from the information that I have gotten, it isn't happening this time.

The day i have to put something as ridiculous as elogs/eobr in my truck is the day I will retire. I don't have to have the government telling me when to do what, and never will I run team. I value the classic/collector nature of my truck as well and it will stay original.
