like i stated before; i don't disagree with u, but e logs & paper logs both have their advantages & disadvantages; to me, to each their own choosing

The anti trucking groups though use the drivers who "make the paper log look legal" as the reason we need elogs. And so many of the major truck accidents that where the truckers fault, show the driver had been running illegal. -

Look at the San Joaquin Valley to New York. Onions, which don't have a very short travel time and can go with a solo, paid $5,500 to $5,700, while tree fruits and such, with shorter travel time limits paid $7,200 to $8,000.
With the mandate of EOBRs, solo drivers are going to be cut out of the long distance, time critical loads. They will have to go for the shorter loads. This means that there will be less trucks availible for the long distance loads, meaning that rates will rise as it is still a supply versus demand market. -

i just read something a couple of days ago in "The Trucker" that said that E LOGS were not finalized yet...alrdy threw the mag away...but when we get to the next trk stop will pick it back up...
have ran e logs before...to a degree they are kind of nice...but also has a down side (traffic delay etc) i am not super old school (time out here) but am not new either...like paper logs better...yes we run legal....but i dont need a babysitter or to be tracked...nothing to hide....our company has pre pass...we elected not to have it in the truck...i know times are changing....guess i will do it the old way til i am made to change or quit ..one way or the other...LOL...as for older drivers knowing more than the new ones?? WELL DUH!!!! its like that NO MATTER THE JOB OR PROFESSION....now granted, not all who know more have any common sense left....but most of us do...and dont claim to KNOW IT ALL....but it would only make sense that someone who has been doing something longer would know more than a newbie....and i would really like to see some of you deal with what the true old timers (older than me) had to deal with when they started....no a/c, no power steering, no air ride, LITTLE sleepers that you had to crawl thru a hole to get into to....heck before that (drove one myself) had cabovers, had to climb over the doghouse to get to bed...and couldnt stand up to get dressed....no cell phones, no laptops no GPS (dont own one dont plan to) no qualcomm...and sure in heck no computer to do your log book for you..heck a lot of the new ones CANT EVEN READ A MAP....no automatics (thank god for that)...how many of you know what twin sticks are for or know HOW to use what it is???? female showers didnt use to exsist....i could go on and on.....but you get my point... dont care for E LOGS or any of the crap they force on us either....oh yeah no jakes back back then either...MiFamilyGuy, LaBubba and d o g Thank this.
