Y'all Oregon drivers on here?

Well I grew up in Hines (Burns). Then I moved to Idaho to go to college and now I live over here for good unfortunately. I hate it here, but sure love Eastern Oregon - there's no place like it. Its tough to drive truck and be based out of Eastern Oregon though...unless your drivin cattle truck or something.

 

i live in redding,ca which although isnt oregon its close enough. i ran a dedicated from woodland ca to wilsonville or and loved running in oregon

 

My home is in the State of Jefferson, but I don't see it much...

 

so your from yreka or mtshasta... i wish they would of passed that but unfortunately it will never happen

 

I'm curious as to what kind of trucking jobs are out in Oregon. My wife and I have friends that live in Salem, OR and are trying to convince us to move out there. We are ready for a change, and want a good place to raise a family and somewhere that has decent jobs. Oh, I was also going to ask, since Oregon has a law that drivers can't pump their own gas, does the same apply to truckers pumping their own diesel? Not really important, just curious.

 

You can pump your own diesel. And there are plenty of outfits out there hiring for all types of trucks, but like anywhere else most want verifiable otr experience...

 

Thanks for the info. I plan to get a couple years OTR experience before applying for a good local job. My wife and I had been considering Oregon because our friends are there, and we're ready for a change.

 

Try Central Oregon Trucking Company in Prineville, OR. They are a flatbed company. You pump your own diesel fuel.

 

What's wrong with Idaho? At least it isn't North North California like OR is.
