    I doubt it.

Some companies do not record all movement of the truck, others do.

I imagine nothing will be done and the issue will remain as cloudy and imprecise as it is now.

That is exactly what my favorite person at work said to me. You don't happen to be a 65 y.o. lady, do ya?

If you drop the trailer, and bobtail home, then bobtail back to the trailer, that is NOT deadheading. True, if you were empty and moving to go get another load, that is deadheading and not allowed. Or if you are bobtailing from the house to go get ANOTHER load, then that would be deadheading. But if you drop the trailer, then go home, then return to the trailer, you are leaving and returning to your normal work location, which is the trailer location you dropped it at. One would not be under dispatch for that movement, nor would that be under the direction of the carrier, nor would they be deadheading to go load. Anyway, I don't care if one sees it differently. That's fine. I have been stopped and checked by Iowa DOT doing this and have never had an issue. Since they didn't seem to mind, then neither do I.

Technically, if you are returning to your trailer from home, and at the same time you are under dispatch....(knowingly by you of course)...then the return to the trailer from home would be deadheading and your log would start from your home. TECHNICALLY
