Hello to all Stevens Drivers in this forum. Iam a driver at Werner and having a bad time with them. I have 4 companies in mind Prime Inc, Walamrt, Crete, and Stevens. I see their are alot of good things about Stevens and thats why Iam interested to drive for them to. I see on the threads about Stevens that Stevens is mostly a training company. I feel interested in Stevens because of their leasing program and wanted to train drivers there since its a training company. I hear drivers average alot of miles there and see that their drivers ride nice equipment. And that they have a good safety record to. But right now im having a hard time choosing which company would be best for me. If any drivers could give me more information about the company I would really appreciate that

Out of the choices you gave, Walmart is your best bet. Although Stevens is a good company, you can make more elsewhere. DO NOT DO A LEASE! If you do want your own truck, go to a bank and get one.

If your desire is to train, then Stevens may be good for you. Keep in mind that to be a trainer, you must be a solo driver for one year first. You'll be required to go thru Stevens training which may be truncated since you have experience.
There are other companies that will pay more money, but I don't think you'll find a training company that pays more.
All is not a bowl of cherries, as the saying goes. Perhaps you have some specific questions we can address.

Thanks. Lease drivers make more money if they know how the business works. But the problem Im having with leasing is hometime would be harder for me and training to would make it even more harder.

I plan to train to make more money and be able to pay the lease truck. I also like helping people alot, thats why I have a desire to train. As for leasing at Stevens, their lease program looks good from what Ive read in this forum. And for Stevens would I just go through orientation and get hired after? Because I dont see the need for me to go thru training

You have 3 years accident free? Why are you looking at Stevens or Prime? No disrespect for Stevens or Prime but the pay just isn't there as a company driver and there are better leases out there, especially NOT Prime, OMG! Take your experience and call JCT, ATS, MCT, Boyd, Crete, Pride, etc. If you are an experienced driver go with a company that rewards you.

I had plan to go with Prime because I hear they have a great leasing program. Less sitting and more miles. They have a good safety record to and great equipment. At Stevens since Stevens is a training company, and they have a good leasing program to, I wanted to join them and train and do leasing to. Currently right now Iam more interested for driving for Walmart because they are a great company, high pay, great equipment, miles to run, and safe drivers to. But also looking for a company with a great leasing program

Right now Iam at Werner and not getting enough miles. So I think its time to move on to a better company. Im more interested at a company with a great leasing program for the moment, because I dont want to do lease and end up bad for me. So I need a good company and a company that make drivers run hard.
