I'm home. Got my last 2 drops off this morning and was home at 8:30. Time to enjoy my weekend. Louie said another week of this. I heard through the grapevine this run will be available permanently, If it is I'm thinking of taking it.

That sounds like a great oppertunity, I on the other hand am looking at going to work for either Knight, Schnieder, or Werner. I have been away from trucking for a few years and only had about a years experience before things got slow in 2009. I am glad to hear you got a sweet deal, maybe after I build up a few months of road time I will find something like that. Good luck with the new employer Johnboy, see you out there.

Thanks. But it's with the same company I'm with. Whoever you sign up with put your full year in then the doors will open for better opportunities. Go and research Smaggs on TTR. He started his career as a new driver with Knight, got trained, put his full year in then moved on to a better job.

I haven't been offered it yet. I'll find out next week. This run is one of 3 that ends up in Florida. Tom has the west coast run, with 6 drops, Brian has the Miami run with 5 drops then this one I'm doing ends in Deerfield Beach. The one I'm doing has an extra pick up in Jessup Pa at 6am on Wednesday morning, then I go to our warehouse and get the rest of my load. My load requires a reefer trailer because of the 2 pallets I pick up in Jessup that delivers in West Palm Beach, the rest of the freight is all the same. We are done getting loaded by 8:30 and headed south by 9am. I have the same 3 drops every week, Wilmington NC at 1am Thursday morning, 6am Friday morning then finish up at 7:30. The money is good, in fact, because of the extra stop pay it comes out to the same as if I would run out west, only I leave out Monday morning and am back home Friday morning.

The issue that will stop me from getting this, in my opinion, is that Louie uses me as a back up west coast driver. But, these dedicated runs is some of the highest paying freight we have that is very time critical from one of our biggest customers.

This really isn't any different for me and my hometime. The nice thing is that I'm at the same place the same time every week. The only difference is no more west coast turns.

Called into dispatch and got my reload info for Monday. Same load I had this past Monday, load in Jacksonville, unload in Columbia, deadhead to Greenville then drop and hook for Mountain Top for Tuesday night.
